Demi Moore is an icon in her own right, and as she gears up to celebrate her milestone 60th birthday in November 2022, she’s hoping to defy cultural norms and feminine expectations with a new swimwear line honoring health and beauty at any age.

Moore rose to fame in the 1980s. According to Biography.com, Moore hit the big time in 1985 when she portrayed "Jules" in "St. Elmo's Fire." Moore became a core member of the "Brat Pack." According to Insider, the term "Brat Pack" was coined by New York Magazine journalist David Blum to describe Hollywood's rising young movie stars. The Brat Pack consisted of Emilio Estevez, Anthony Michael Hall, Rob Lowe, Andrew McCarthy, Judd Nelson, Molly Ringwald and Ally Sheedy.

Moore made her leading lady debut in "Ghost," where she starred alongside Patrick Swayze. Her performance earned her a Golden Globe nomination. Goldberg ranked "Ghost" as one of Moore's most outstanding performances, while her roles in "A Few Good Men" and "About Last Night" were ranked second and third.

Since then, she's dominated the screen, appearing in movies such as "Striptease" and "G.I. Jane.” At one point in the late 1990s, she was the highest-paid actress in Hollywood. She later enjoyed a resurgence with supporting roles in movies including "Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle” and "Rough Night."

In the last few years, the actress has diversified her work, releasing a memoir in 2019 titled "Inside Out." Never one to shy away from the camera, Moore has also begun modeling more often in the last few years, including for editorial shoots, such as a swimwear campaign for the brand Andie, as well as walking the runway for various brands like Fendi and Rihanna's Savage X Fenty lingerie line.

Moore has been married three times, first to Freddy Moore, then to fellow superstar actor Bruce Willis and lastly Ashton Kutcher. Nowadays, you’re most likely to find her chilling at her Idaho home with her family – daughters Rumer, 33, Scout, 31, and Tallulah, 28, and ex-husband Willis, 67, and his wife Emma Heming Willis, 46, and children Mabel, 10, and Evelyn, 8.

Moore said while she enjoys the glamorous aspects of her life, “when I’m in Idaho, it’s generally overalls all day, every day."

"I do appreciate fashion, and I have a relationship with designers who I respect and admire. But I still feel like a little kid who gets to dress up and who I am at heart is a grubby 12-year-old boy who really likes to just be comfortable and wear baggy clothes," she said, adding that her “biggest teachers” when it comes to fashion are her three daughters.

"It is a mutual exchange of style inspiration. When they're being themselves, that's the most inspiring for me. I saw my youngest daughter wearing this vintage Japanese silk robe out, and I looked at it and said, ‘Is that from my storage?’ And she said, ‘Yes, I liberated it.’ At the end it’s going to all go to them anyway, so why not let them dip in?"

However, this doesn’t mean Moore doesn’t enjoy a good glam collab. She can now count herself as a designer after collaborating with inclusive swimwear brand Andie. She also served as the model for the Demi Moore x Andie capsule campaign, looking svelte, healthy and happy while lounging in beautiful sunlit locales across the French Riviera.

In the campaign pictures, Moore looked stunning in a host of shots, including on a boat in a black string bikini, looking practically Amazonian in a stunning two-piece, in a luscious white one-piece and a mottled brown swimsuit.

Comments saying she looked “stunning,” “beautiful” and had “goddess vibes” flooded her Instagram posts.

Moore said with the collection, she wanted to show that women should not have to be trapped by the expectations of society and the outdated belief that women of a certain age can no longer be sensual or alluring.

“It's changing this idea that women become less desirable as we get older," she told People. "We don't want to look matronly or not feel sexy."

As for the big 6-0, Moore said she has reached a point in her life where she has embraced her age and wears it proudly like a badge of honor. She said as she hits 60, she is looking forward to “not being defined by a number and instead being defined by my experience.”

“You hit 59 and you're already thinking, 'Well, I'm going to be 60.' It feels very liberating. When I think of my grandmother at 60, she in a way seemed to be already resigned to being old. But I feel, in so many ways, more alive and present than ever," she said.

Moore’s message of beauty at every age is an admirable one to get behind, and we support women of every size, shape and age going out there living their best lives without giving a hoot about what others think or letting others define their experience.
