'Delete It, Delete It!' Kate Middleton Tries To DJ On Scotland Tour But An Unimpressed Prince William Jokes 'It's Hurting My Ears'

Following the death of Prince Philip in April and the official period of mourning for the royal family, Prince William and Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge are now back to work as they embark on a tour of Scotland. While in East Lothian yesterday, the couple visited the Scottish Violence Reduction Centre.

In a video that was shared, the royal couple visited one of SVRC's partners, Heavy Sound, which seeks to provide music, creative arts, and sporting activities to those in underprivileged areas. During the visit, Kate Middleton even showed off her DJing skills, however, it didn't seem to have impressed her husband William.

In the short clip, Middleton can be seen getting a lesson in music-making from one of the staff at Heavy Sound, but when she presses a button that leads to a deep, off-kilter beat, everyone begins to laugh, including the duchess herself. Although she gets positive feedback from the staff member, it's clear that perhaps music isn't her forte. What's more, Prince William is watching on from a nearby couch and is giving his own input, likening the sounds to a cat and explaining that it's hurting his ears.

Despite the mixed feedback, everyone seems to be thoroughly enjoying themselves as they laugh and comment on the music together. Although, upon leaving, Middleton doesn't seem to be convinced of her effort, telling the staff to delete her attempt at music-making as she appears rather bashful. Let's take a look at the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's recent outing and the fun they seemed to have while in Scotland.

In the video, Kate Middleton is being given a lesson on how to make music and DJ. Seen standing over a turntable and keyboard alongside a man in a red hoodie, the duchess shows no fear as she presses down on a device and creates a short beat. Whether the resulting sound is what she pictured in her head or not, the reality is that the sound that came out was low and off-kilter, and instantly threw the room into a fit of laughter.

Despite being told by her instructor that it's "not bad," Prince William, who is sitting on a couch behind them, has other thoughts. Piping in with "it's sounding like a cat," Middleton can be seen laughing hysterically, perhaps at both the truth in William's comment but also at her attempts at DJing.

But the jokes don't stop there — soon enough William can be heard saying, "Please turn that off, it's hurting my ears." Not exactly the feedback you want to hear from your husband after you've just tried a new hobby, but it all seems to be in good fun.

As the couple is leaving the space, Middleton continues to joke about her attempt, telling the team at Heavy Sound

"Sorry for leaving such a terrible song. Delete it, delete it!"

Showing that the Cambridge's have a great sense of humor, when the video was posted to their official Twitter account, the caption doubled down on Middleton's last comment:

"Keep up the incredible work @vruscotland in leading the way in finding compassionate, holistic, human-led solutions. Oh and please do delete that music…"

The Cambridge's current tour of Scotland began last Friday with Prince William arriving first on his own before the duchess joined him on Monday. The exact details of their tour schedule have not been released publicly but the royal couple is expected to visit St Andrews University, which is where they met when they were both enrolled as students 20 years ago. The oldest university in Scotland, St Andrews is also the third-oldest in the English-speaking world, coming after Oxford and Cambridge.

For now, they've visited the Scottish Violence Reduction Unit and Heavy Sound. Founded in 2005 by the local police department, SVRU is a nationwide center tackling violence and is particularly aimed at young people. The organization works with Police Scotland and the Scottish government by using a public health approach to tackling the root causes of violent behaviors. SVRU works together with Heavy Sound to keep young people on the right path by engaging them in education and training where they can obtain skills and qualifications.

On top of trying their hand at music, the Duke and Duchess were present at a Muay Thai boxing session that is aimed at teaching youth de-escalation techniques and discipline. They were also privy to bike maintenance workshops that the organizations hold for young people.

Later in their Scottish royal tour, the duke and duchess will host a special drive-in screening for NHS staff of Disney's new film "Cruella," as well as a beachside session of land yachting. The tour will also mark their first official visit to the archipelago of Orkney.
