Dear God, I'm Leaving Everything In Your Hands

Dec 20, 2018 by apost team

It's exhausting trying to be in control all the time. As much as I would love to make everything in my life go according to plan, that just isn't how it works. I try to remind myself that You have me. I don't have to make sure everything is exactly how I want it to be because things are exactly as You know they should be.

God, trusting you isn't always easy. I feel guilty that I can't just turn off my brain and fearlessly believe everything will work out. I am weak, I admit that, but I know You love me anyway.

The harder I try to understand everything, the harder it is to just trust Your wisdom. So, I am going to stop worrying about everything beyond my control and let You take the reins. I know that You have my best interest at heart and that You and You alone see so much more than I can ever comprehend.

I will remind myself to trust in You from now on. God, you have the answers. You want to show me the way. These trials are meant to help me grow, not punish me. You have used people to show the world your incredible wisdom for thousands of years. Why should my life be any different?

I don't have to be Job or Moses for my sufferings to matter. I know that You don't do us harm on purpose, but you also don't shield us from every harshness and cruelty. You know that there is experience to be gained from life's hardships, and I can make it through anything with You by my side.

Every set-back, every let-down, every disappointment teaches me to rely more on Your wisdom and understanding. All of my faults and shortcomings are incomparable to Your love. You have my best interest at heart; whatever happiness I miss out on now, I know You have so much more joy waiting for me in the future.

From this day forward, I will commit all of myself to you. I surrender my guilt, my pride, my sins and my doubt to You. I will read Your Word and trade my uncertainty for the peace You and You alone can give.
