David Beckham Said Of Prince Harry: He's "Proud" Of His "Amazing" Friend

David Beckham, 44, said that he is very "proud" of his "friend" Prince Harry for "growing up" while referencing Harry's marriage to Meghan Markle and the birth of their nine-month-old son.

The former England soccer player said that he and his wife Victoria love Harry and think "he's an amazing person."

While speaking to ET Online, David Beckham said that he hasn't yet spoken to the Duke of Sussex, 35 about his decision to step away from his senior royal duties and move with his family to Canada. Beckham said: 

"I haven't spoken to Harry about him moving. We speak as friends and that's the most important thing for me. I think he's enjoying being a young father for the first time and that's what we always spoke about. When you are a parent, it changes everything for you. He always needs to be happy."

Beckham, a father of four, went on to express how he and his wife Victoria are so proud of Harry's adjustment to fatherhood after Archie's birth in May of last year. Beckham went on to say:

"We love him and he's an amazing person - and that's the most important thing–but I'm proud to see him growing up as an individual and being that person that every father wants to be he added. Every father wants to be loving to their children and that's what I see with him."

David Beckham and his wife Victoria attended Prince Harry and Meghan's wedding back in May of 2008 in Windsor, Berkshire, UK. According to PopSugar, Harry and Beckham met at a World Cup FA reception back in 2010 in Johannesburg after watching England play in Cape Town, South Africa the day prior. The two have been friends ever since.
