Many say that pictures are worth a thousand words, but the story behind this 3-year-old daughter’s picture left her mom speechless.

Stacy Wehrman Freeley, the mom who wrote the above Facebook post, happened to be snapping a photo of her young daughter standing on top of the toilet in their home’s restroom.

When Freeley’s daughter had told her exactly that what she had been doing in that photo was a practice lockdown drill, she described the feeling as shocking. “At that moment all innocence of what I thought my three-year-old possessed was gone.”

Because of the increase in mass shootings such as the one in Orlando, FL, children like Freeley’s daughter had to be taught what to do in case a shooter was in the building. If they were trapped in the building, they would have to stand atop a toilet seat to hide themselves from the plain sight of the shooter.

Although younger children do the drill and are told it is for safety, older children are very aware of the meaning behind the lockdown drill. They are aware of the Orlando shooting and many were unfortunately exposed to the effects of such events first hand.

Freeley isn’t overly political but encourages viewers and those sharing her post to support tighter gun control. She says “Unless you want your children standing on top of a toilet, we need to do something!”

This post has been shared over than 20,000 times and viewers are starting to support the cause by voting for tighter gun laws.

In the wake of such violence, as a means to solve problems, many Florida mothers and fathers are being held accountable to solve the epidemic.

If you want to spare the innocence of young children such as Freeley’s three-year-old daughter and even your own children, please inform family and friends about the importance of stricter gun laws.
