Not all surprises in life are good. In fact, many people are given bad news on a daily basis. One man received horrible news when he was diagnosed with cancer. That man's daughter did something extremely special for him. Knowing that her father wouldn't live to see her married she arranged a special wedding dance for her father in the house.

Meredith Parnell knew that her father didn't have long left. She simply borrowed a wedding dress and arranged for her and her father to share a dance.

Her dad died two days later, but one of his last moments was spent having the daddy-daughter dance he had anticipated.

The diagnosis originally came in 2003. Meredith's father endured the disease for over a decade before finally passing away.

In 2015, doctors gave her father only a few weeks to live. This is when Meredith came to a shocking revelation: her father would never see her get married.

She decided to do something special for her father.

She borrowed a wedding dress from her friend, put it on, and walked into her parent's home. Seeing Meredith in the wedding dress, Meredith's father broke into tears. She helped him from his wheelchair and the two shared a very special dance.

The family most certainly videotaped it to keep the memory alive, but now it serves another purpose. The video is a reminder to us all to spend as much time with our loved ones now.

The video is truly heart-warming. Perhaps it will inspire you to do something nice for your parents. A video like this could be all that is needed for someone to decide to reconcile with their parents. If you have friends or family who aren't talking to their parents, this could be exactly what they need to realize their mistakes.
