The father-daughter dance is always a special moment at any wedding, bat mitzvah or sweet sixteen party. It’s such an adorable moment when all your friends and family gather around to see you have a special dance with the original man in your life.

When Jessica Hanley had her bat mitzvah, she made sure that there was a good deal of time allotted to share a special dance with her father. Her friends and family all gathered around the dance floor to see Jessica and her father share a special dance together during the event. However, they were in for a big surprise!

Guests at Jessica’s bat mitzvah should have known that Jessica and her father Mike wouldn’t settle for a simple, traditional dance for their big moment. After all, Mike Hanley has been performing as a stand up comedian since 1989.

The two started to dance slowly to the timeless classic “My Girl” by The Temptations before they lit up the dance floor with a fun choreographed dance sequences that had their guests applauding and roaring with laughter.

The music soon broke into Whitney Houston’s “I Wanna Dance With Somebody”. All the guests started to laugh as the beat continually changed from song to song. What the audience was treated to was a varying mix of classics, dance anthems, even rap.

It was clear that the duo had practiced their dance a good bit as they never failed to move in sync to the changing songs that came over the speakers.

The five-minute dance mashup included songs like Lou Bega’s “Mambo No. 5”, Lady Gaga’s “Poker Face”, “Greased Lightnin'” from Grease, Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” and even 50 Cent’s “In Da Club”.

Everyone at Jessica’s bat mitzvah watched on with adoring looks for the father-daughter duo that was clearly having an incredible time tearing up the dance floor during the choreographed mashup.

Their dance sequence ended as Jessica and Mike again came together to dance to the end of “My Girl.” It was a very special moment that the father-daughter pair chose to celebrate in their own creative way, rather than going the traditional slow-dance route.

Mike has been working as a stand-up comedian since 1989 and has performed at all kinds of venues. Around 2000 he decided to hang up his microphone and fully dedicate himself to spending time with his family. In 2011 he began to get the itch again and has since occasionally performed at comedy clubs and shows, all with his wife and daughters' blessing.

How adorable is this video of these two characters dancing to such a wild mix of songs? It really shows how much these two love each other. Let us know what you think. Maybe you even got some ideas for your next dance party?
