A funny new video is making the rounds online. The video is a work of pure fiction, but it tells a story that should bring smiles to parents dealing with their smartphone-loving teenagers.

Smartphones changed the world. Older people remember a time when communicating with others was both limited and costly. Today, a text message can send information to someone anywhere in the world in an instant. While this represents the wonders of technology, texting sometimes represents little more than a person's rudeness. Texting at the dinner table, for example, isn't the best behavior. The creation of a recent video shows the rudeness in a different light. It uses humor to get a message across.

A dad put up with his sons' dinner-time texting for far too long. Eventually, dad got more than a little tired of the behavior and took some action. He found an old typewriter and brought it to the dinner table. Dad banged away at the old, loud keys and totally disrupted his kids' dinner and texting session. The oblivious teenagers didn't see the irony here. One of them asked his dad what he was doing, and dad chided the young one to "Pass the salt."

Whether the teenagers learned their lesson remains somewhat ambiguous. But the humorous nature of the video might do more for a parent wishing to instill some guidance to a young one. Teenagers generally don't like lectures. A funny video might achieve better results and less texting.

What do you think about this father's clever revenge? Do you feel like there's too much dinner-time texting in your family as well? Let us know in the comments and be sure to pass this video along to anyone who needs to see this!
