It Was A Passion Project
Building this dino for his kids was something that he did for fun as it wasn't one of his paying projects. Cosman had been "hoarding" scraps for about a decade and had been making plans for years as he knew that he wanted to start building this prehistoric playground one day.
Although he saved a decent amount of money using these materials, he still had to purchase a lot of it himself so he waited until he could find the best deals possible. The playground may have been built for his kids, but he says that the consensus online is that a lot of adults are fans too. Some have even said that Cosman deserves a nomination for dad of the year.
The progression of the project and the interesting details that he included can be viewed online. While you may not decide to make a project to the scale of Cosman's, maybe it will inspire you to get creative in your yard.
