You’ve got the dads out there too afraid to drink the imaginary tea out of their daughter’s tea set for fear of losing a sip of their masculinity. Then, you have unabashed dads like James Breakwell out there scarfing the tea down and spitting out jokes about it on social media under his Twitter handle “Exploding Unicorn.” He’s a hot dad. He’s a funny Tweeter. He makes every parent feel like a success. So, who is the Exploding Unicorn?

Meet James Breakwell AKA Twitter’s Exploding Unicorn

Breakwell, as the Exploding Unicorn, has over 1.1 million Twitter followers. His feed chronicles his daily convos as a dad and husband, and the entries are nothing short of hilarious. He sets the stage with a bio claiming to be an amateur dad to four little girls under the age of seven, pig owner times two, and professional writer of comedy.

His entries are all about what it’s like raising kids, the funny and witty things they say, and how parents are often left saying “touché” at the end. Before you think this guy is some kind of know-it-all super dad, know that his latest book, titled “Bare Minimum Parenting: The Ultimate Guide to Not Quite Ruining Your Child,” isn’t about overachieving as a parent. Instead, it’s about surviving it.

His Tweets follow the same humorous tongue-in-cheek approach to parenting as his two books, and it has parent’s going crazy for more of this family’s everyday life. Instead of using the names of his children, he often refers to each child as a number that’s symbolic of their age.

Three is already learning to be the sneaky youngest. Breakwell says she got in trouble for eating an entire package of blueberries. The next day, she learned her lesson. She hid the package.

Eight is a baller already. Breakwell Tweets that eight said it was time for a New Year’s Revolution, to which he corrected that it was resolution. Eight simply didn’t reply, clearly indicating she had chosen her word appropriately.

When six brings home a new pen. Breakwell Tweets that it’s nice and wants to know where she got it. When six says boyfriend, daddy Exploding Unicorn simply says to “give it back.”

Five has on a Batman mask, Elsa dress, and Wonder Woman cape. Breakwell Tweets that he asks what super hero she is; five replies with“me.”

If you haven’t read Exploding Unicorn’s Tweets, you’re seriously missing out. Aside from being funny with his girls, the responses he gets from them demonstrate he’s doing a lot right as a parent. From their quick wit and stellar sense of self, this Exploding Unicorn is raising some fine girls.
