A father's love for his children has no end. One New Hampshire father, in particular, proved just that when he killed a coyote that had attacked his son with nothing but his bare hands to protect his child.

Ian O'Reilly was with his family on a hike in Kensington, New Hampshire when the harrowing event happened, WMUR reports.

Ian was on a trail along with his wife, Allison, and the couple's three children. Suddenly, a coyote appeared and grabbed the family's two-year-old son by his coat. Without hesitation, Ian and Allison worked feverishly to free the child from the coyote, Ian says in the full video interview with WMUR.

While Ian was struggling to free his son from the coyote, the animal bit the father on the chest and the forearm as it continued to attack. Ian said he then straddled the animal and put it into a scissor lock while squeezing it as hard as he could. As a result, the coyote's air supply was cut off and the animal died from strangulation, he continued in the video interview with WMUR.

Because of the bites, Ian will need to be treated for rabies. The attack on this family was one of three coyote incidents in that same area that day, however, authorities are not certain how many separate animals were involved in the events, WMUR concludes.
