Dad Hilariously Trolls Son Who Thought His Waving Was Embarrassing— For 3 Years Straight
Feb 26, 2019 by apost team
When 16-year-old Rain got on the bus on the first day of his sophomore year in high school, he was understandably nervous as many teenagers are.
His father watched his son board the bus from the family’s front porch, and he waved goodbye to his son as most parents might.
However, Rain was thoroughly embarrassed by his dad’s friendly gesture, and he immediately asked his mom to put an end to it as soon as he got home from school that day.
This unfortunately set off a unique family tradition that carried on for several years until Rain graduated.
The first day after Rain asked for the waving to stop, his father, Dale, dressed up in a wedding dress to wave at the bus from the front porch. Some fathers may stop after embarrassing their children for a day, but Dale kept this up for approximately three years. There is even a website entirely dedicated to Dale waving at the bus every morning. The website has an archive of photos of every single costume he's worn over the course of three years.
Each morning, he would dress in outrageous costumes that were designed to embarrass his son thoroughly.
These included a ghost, a pirate, a mermaid, a witch and more. One morning, he even sat on a toilet on his front porch reading a newspaper as the bus passed by.

As you might imagine, friends and neighbors soon learned about this hilarious ritual. Many offered their own old Halloween costumes for Dale to wear.
In fact, according to their website, Dale received so much support from the community that he only had to spend approximately $50 on costumes throughout the first year.
This tradition received even more public attention when Dale and his wife started a blog with daily posts featuring his costume of the day.
This family gets into Halloween with elaborate costumes each year, so it is only natural that Dale would go to such fun extremes to embarrass his son. Today, Rain is a missionary in Liberia, so he is much too far away for Dale to continue to troll him.
However, to this day, Rain is careful about what he asks his parents for.
