Dad Hilariously Misunderstands His Daughter's Needs When She Gets Her Period at School

Becoming a parent comes with a host of responsibilities. Parents have to not only clothe, shelter and feed their little ones, but they also have to teach them all the basics and see them through changes in their life to ensure they develop a strong foundation. This is especially true during puberty when children go through immense emotional and physical changes.

For one dad, this all holds true, and he was determined to be there for his daughter whenever she needed him. So it came to be that one day, his daughter’s mother called him to tell him that their child had just got her first period in school. Intent on doing anything he could in the situation, he asked what he could do to help. 

“Alright, so look, check this out. So my baby mama just text me and told me like, ‘hey baby dad, your daughter just got her period in school.’ I’m like alright, cool, what I need to do?” he said in a clip posted to TikTok he recorded concerning the situation.

“She like, ‘take her some pads up there,’” he continued. “I’m like alright, I’m gonna take my dog to the doggy appointment and then I’m gonna slide up there. She like, ‘alright cool, get her some maxi pads. Get her some Always pads with wings.’”

However, despite his good intentions, the man realized later that he had misunderstood exactly what he was supposed to do, to hilarious effect.

“So, I feel like I should tell y’all what I did,” he said as he panned the camera to the passenger seat to show viewers what he had bought for his daughter.

In the clip posted in November 2022, the man showed viewers what he had bought for his daughter as requested by her mother. The camera moved to show a pack of sanitary pads; so far, so good.

“I got her some Always pads… and I got her some wings,” he proudly announced before panning the camera to a packed box of… chicken wings! To be entirely fair, the dad had fulfilled his aim of getting her the feminine hygiene products his daughter needed but perhaps had misunderstood the instructions. Viewers were delighted and amused by the dad’s misinterpretation, saying he had “overstood the assignment.” Despite the confusion, many were touched by the father’s actions.

“The pads will help her with her cycle and the wings is emotional support & care. Add a little note telling her that you love her,” one viewer wrote, while another commented, “no she needs both wings. you did good.”

“I commend you sir! That’s not a mess up that’s a bonus!!!!!!! Keep being a stand up Dad,” another viewer wrote in praise of the father’s caring ways, while another wrote, “Food is always smart but most importantly she knows she can count on dad.”

The man ended the clip saying, “But I ain’t know this not what she means. She meant just the pads that had the wings And they got the wings, and she got some more wings. Yup, I done f****d up. It’s all good.”

However, viewers felt differently and praised the father for a job well done, with one comment reading:

“This is not messing up, this is going above and beyond. Well done, your daughter will remember the love and support!”
