The relationship between dads and pets is always very special, especially when an adorable little creature breaks down the barriers of their tough exteriors. Youtube user Philip Michaels posted a video in 2013 of his dad receiving a surprise pup when his senior dog passed away, and his reaction is priceless.

Philip writes on his Youtube description that his dad was heartbroken when their Maltese dog of 15 years was put down. He goes on to write:

"We all knew that we wanted a new puppy but would have to wait awhile for my father to heal. We were all heart broken. Then one day my father had come home and showed me pictures of a dog he had seen in the city, while on his lunch break at work. It was a havanese."

Philip waited for about six months for his dad to heal from his dog's passing before he and his mom went searching for a new dog. On a day close to Christmas, the two went to the same place where they found their Maltese years earlier, saying "I grabbed him, his tail wagged and he reminded me so much of my maltese and I knew he was the one."

He then continues about how he decided to surprise his dad: "So we brought him home and as my mother went off inside and asked my father to help me with the groceries (which is why he's ticked off that I am still on the car on my phone and whips up his arms), he came out and was expecting food for the week, but instead found a new best friend."

Philip's dad spots the little dog in the backseat of the car, expecting groceries, and immediately melts. He begins gushing at the little guy and reacts like anybody would when they see an adorable puppy. Philip asks "Do you know what kind of dog it is?" and his dad looks up and responds, wide-eyed, "Maltese?" The sweet reaction was described as "So pure. So good. So important." by a Youtube commenter and echoed by many others.
