Martin, father of Faye, has been singing his whole life. The veteran opera singer learned that Faye, who is just 10-years-old, has a beautiful voice, and knew he needed to share it with the world.

The two decided to audition for America’s Got Talent by singing opera together, much to the surprise of the audience. How would this small girl’s voice sound paired with a more mature masculine voice?

No one quite knew what to expect.

The judges were blown away, but it was Simon Cowell who stopped to consider the longevity of the act. He noted the shaky parts of the performance and his doubts about their performance, the sort of constructive criticism performers expect from the seasoned judge.

When it became clear to Martin that Simon was on the fence about pushing their act forward, he made an absolutely selfless decision that is guaranteed to make your heart flutter.

What an amazing dad! He clearly just wants the best for his daughter. We hope they go far in this competition because they truly deserve it.
