Dad Asked Toddler Daughter To Perform 'Old MacDonald' But She Had Her Own Hysterical Adaptation

Eric Palonen decided to record his 23-month-old daughter, Josie, singing her own adaptation of "Old MacDonald Had a Farm" back in April of 2014. The YouTube video melted the hearts of viewers worldwide.

“Old MacDonald Had a Farm” is based on a nursery rhyme, “Old Macdougal Had a Farm” which originated in 1917.

In this YouTube video, the dad asks his little girl to sing “Old MacDonald Had a Farm” and she offers her own charming remix to the classic nursery rhyme. How she mutters in between the verses before returning to singing this song is absolutely adorable.

Using a book as her guide that also has five finger animal puppets attached to it, she sings the nursery rhyme based on each of the finger puppets which are a cow, pig, dog, cat, and duck respectively. In between each verse, she picks up the next finger puppet in her hand and correctly identifies that animal by name, and by the sound it makes.

She portrays her growing knowledge of animals well via the vocal accuracy of each animal. Her rendition of a duck quacking is spot on!

If you found this video cute, Josie's dad Eric welcomes the viewers to see a video of Josie a little older, at three-and-a-half-years-old, where she gives spelling lessons. Even though the video is from October of 2015, it melts hearts just the same as the earlier video.

You’ll definitely have a happy laugh by watching this video. Let us know what you think of it in the comments below. You can even show it to your young children to help them learn how to sing this nursery rhyme too. Maybe down the line he or she will make their own little remix of “Old MacDonald Had a Farm” as well.
