Dachshund Delighted To Play With Favorite Toy From Puppyhood After 5 Years

Everyone remembers what their favorite toy was as a child. This toy used to give you so much happiness and really helped develop your imagination. Just like the movie Toy Story depicts, children really develop a bond with their toys. There's something special about always having a friend who's loyal and ready to explore the creative boundaries of the imagination with you.

They might not be as cool as real friends, but toys are something very special. Not surprisingly, we're not the only species to think so.

Dogs also have a strong bond with their toys. Whether it's a squeaky toy, a stuffed animal, or an old shoe, dogs seem to choose a favorite toy and play with that one more than any other.

This is the same behavior that young children exhibit when choosing their favorite toy, reports the Bristol Post. It's always funny when a dog chooses an old toy that doesn't seem to stand out amongst the others. Whatever the initial motivation is for choosing a favorite toy, dogs certainly become set in their ways.

You can ask any pet mom or dad if their cute canine used to have a favorite toy during their puppy years. The answer is bound to be a definitive 'yes'. Unfortunately, not many of these toys ever survive longer than a few years. Not only are they not built to last forever, but dogs have a tendency to chew their favorite toys to smithereens. Ironically, this is part of what makes a dog's toy their favorite.

Surprisingly, one lucky dog, Finn the Dachsund, was reunited with a favorite toy from his puppyhood after five years.

Kyle Jason Lowell, Finn's loving owner, recently shared a cute video of his dog's reaction upon being reunited with his favorite squeaky Piggy toy. Be warned that this clip is overflowing with cuteness. Kyle was asked why he kept Finn's favorite toy away from him for so long. According to CBC News, in reality, Kyle had repeatedly bought his dog another Piggy toy each time they were destroyed, which was often.

Finn was eventually upgraded to something more durable. It seems as though Finn has learned his lesson as he is much more careful with this Piggy. According to Kyle, he carries it with intent from "room to room."

If you found this story too cute to handle, consider showing it to a family member or friend who loves dogs just as much as you. Don't forget to check out the video.
