Most four-year-olds play being a superhero at home but Austin Perine from Birmingham, Alabama, turned his dream into a philanthropic reality. The adorable boy wonder decided to become a superhero himself and his special powers?

Feeding the homeless and spreading love.

According to his dad, TJ, Austin was inspired after watching a tv show where a young panda was left homeless when the mother panda abandoned it. Austin then asked what it means to be homeless and was shocked to find that people regularly experience the same thing.

It was then that a superhero was born, Austin decided to use "all his allowance and money they would normally spend on toys to go towards chicken sandwiches [for the homeless] instead."

Once a week, he dons his red cape and gets to work handing out food and encouraging people not to forget to show love - a simple concept which is often too easily forgotten in today's modern world.

Since getting to work, the caped crusader has raised $5,000 towards a homeless shelter in his hometown and he isn't stopping there. He wants to tackle homelessness in Birmingham, Mobile, and Washington too.

With the help of his dad, he's setting up a non-profit movement with food, toiletries, drug rehabilitation and shelter integration and has already inspired people across America to donate over $50,000 to the project.
