Customers Interfere When They Overhear Foster Mom Abusing Foster Child While Favoring 'Real' Son

Sadly, our country has a tremendous number of kids in the foster care system and a hard time finding homes for many of them. Indeed, there are more than half a million foster care children in the country, with Arizona having one of the highest rates.

Of course, many foster care homes provide absolute love and care for the children placed within their homes, treating them as if they have always been a part of their family; however, as anyone with experience in the field will tell you, there are homes where foster parents use the foster care system as a way to make money and fail to act in the children's best interest. There are, unfortunately, even families who blatantly treat biological children better than their foster children.

In Scottsdale, Arizona, at the Sugar Bowl restaurant, cameras caught such a foster care family on tape. Mother Angela can be seen there with "real" son Xavier and her foster kid Emma.

Angela doesn't hold back what she thinks about having a foster care child. In fact, she allows her son to order an ice cream off the menu while reining Emma in with only potato salad.

She even goes so far as to show her disdain for Emma by telling her she's only a foster child and that she only gets a certain allotted amount of money from the government. Even worse, when Emma gets up to go to the restroom, the cameras catch Angela teaching her son Xavier to treat Emma horribly by conspiring with him to not allow Emma what she wants so that he can get an iPad. Heartbreakingly, Xavier shows no remorse when eagerly complying with his mother's plan to abuse the foster care system financially.

Later on camera, Angela is then even caught threatening a well-behaved and sweet Emma, informing her how quickly she could eject Emma from her home and send her flying right back into the system.

When the family of three moves to the counter, Angela's behavior only gets worse, much to the dismay of those around her.

Thankfully, though, Emma is not really experiencing this rejection in real life, like too many in the system may be. She is, instead, an actor, along with Angela and Xavier. They are working with the show "What Would You Do?" to see just how people would react in situations like this.

And the reactions the cameras pick up are not part of the set-up. They are genuine and heartwarming, especially the last. Watch the video below:
