Curvy Art Teacher Reacts as Parents Call for Her to Be Sacked Over Hourglass Figure, Photos Cause Frenzy

Elementary school teacher Roxsana Diaz found herself at the receiving end of criticism from parents and the public after photos of her curvy figure made the rounds on the internet and social media. The pictures, taken of art teacher Diaz while in the classroom, have also incited calls for her to be fired.

Diaz, an elementary school art teacher at a school in Montana, regularly shares posts on her Instagram account under the handle @toyboxdollz, showing her in class interacting with her young students, as well as snaps of her own original artwork. However, one photo of her standing in the middle of her classroom as her students were seated and looking away from the camera set off a firestorm of events. Once the photo made the rounds online, many were quick to judge Diaz for supposedly flaunting her curvacious figure inappropriately.

“Go take your Thirst trap pics after school lady 🤦🏽‍♂️” one comment read on the Mar. 11, 2021, post, while another user wrote, “it’s clear in her pictures that she’s actively trying to show off her rear to the camera. And doing that in a classroom with children is just perverted.”

“She should focus on the attention from her artwork while in the classroom, not her body,” a third comment read while another viewer said, “that’s so unnecessary you’re around children. How about showing some professionalism. If my child was in there I’d be furious.”

On another photo of Diaz in class at the whiteboard, more users took to the comments to slam her. “I’m sure you are teaching those children a lot of things, just not the right things. We’re going to work on getting you fired,” a user wrote.

After enduring months of online trolling, Diaz appeared on the “Tamron Hall” show to address her haters.

In November 2022, Diaz told talk show host Hall, at the beginning, she was able to laugh about the attention, but that feeling soon turned sour.

“The day my viral photo was taken, I thought absolutely nothing about it. I thought I looked nice. I never thought it was gonna go viral. The response I received from the photo was so overwhelmingly, amazing. Then, the media turned it into something awkward – ‘oh you don’t belong in a classroom,’ ‘people like you shouldn’t teach,’ ‘you should be in nightlife,’ ‘you should be doing porn,’ – and I was like, ‘oh, these people are serious, they really want me to not have a job.’ It felt really really really bad,” Diaz said.

She said the initial response was a great example of body positivity and encouraged her to “show curvy women how to dress appropriately in school.”

Diaz then explained how it had negatively affected her life at school, particularly when “the tabloids turned everything into something ugly versus ‘look at this curvaceous, beautiful teacher, look how she can dress,’ being turned into ‘she should not be a teacher, she should be a stripper, she should be your bartender, she should be a porn star.’”

Diaz also hit back at the media’s attempt to label her as a teacher who dressed inappropriately. “I do not. I wouldn’t have the job for as many years as I’ve had it. I volunteered for seven years at that school before even accepting the teaching position,” she explained.

Diaz has since found backers online, who said she should not be ashamed of her figure in the least and that she should be proud to be an educator.

“Keep impacting in the classroom!!! Teachers are the most judged profession just like cops,” one fan wrote.
