There are a lot of Cubs fans out there, but few fans love the Chicago Cubs as much as Stefan Xidas. Stefan is in his 30s and is passionate about his favorite baseball team. While he has Down syndrome, Stefan has never let his disease hold him back. Recently, he fulfilled one of his biggest dreams in life and made baseball fans cheer with joy.

Stefan's biggest goal in life was to sing the national anthem at a Cubs game. He finally got to live out his dream. According to Stefan, this was his shining moment and the best experience of his entire life.

The amazing moment started with an online challenge. Stefan asked the team's owner if he could sing the anthem if he raised $5,000 for the Special Olympics on GoFundMe. In addition to being an amazing singer, Stefan also competes in tennis at the Special Olympics.

The owner took on the challenge, and Stefan set to work.

Before long, he raised a whopping $18,000. The Cubs even matched the donations dollar per dollar. Friends and family spread the word about the fundraising event. Donations started to pour in from everywhere.

The Big Day Arrives

After meeting his fundraising goal, Stefan was ready to enjoy his reward. He practiced singing the national anthem over and over again. Before the big moment, he drank some hot tea so that his throat would be ready.
