Imagine being at the Red Bull Arena in Harrison, New Jersey, for the U.S. Women’s National Soccer Team (USWNT) matchup against Mexico on Sunday, May 26, and being surprisingly serenaded by Pete DuPré, aged 96, and his harmonica.

Pete started the performance by waving his World War II hat before playing a poignant version of “The Star-Spangled Banner,” showing off his talents which have earned him the nickname “Harmonica Pete."

He actually met the U.S. women’s team in Normandy, France, on Omaha Beach in January this year. Pete DuPré is a veteran who served as a medic in Kidderminster, England, in the 114th General Hospital Unit. For three years during World War II, he treated wounded service members from various parts of Europe, reported NJ.com.
