Creative Ways To Reuse Old Glass Bottles Around The Home

May 04, 2018 by apost team

Tossing your old recyclables into the recycle bin outside of your home so your local garbage company can pick them up, is a great way to help our environment but why not consider using some of your old glass bottles as a way to recycle in your own home and prevent waste? Let’s look at some creative ways to upcycle old glass bottles around your house to create some new décor and craft items.

Picture Frame

This is a very vintage décor item that lets you show off some old family photos and even items in your home. You simply roll up a photo and slide it into a clean and dry bottle. The goal is to have it unroll inside of the bottle so it is visible from the front of the bottle. You can even add some other items in there to make it look creative like beach glass or seashells. If there are labels on the bottles you can soak them in warm soapy water until the labels peel off.

Patriot Drinkware

With summer parties approaching in just a couple of months you can get patriotic with some old soda bottles. Make sure they are washed and clean. Then use acrylic paint to decorate the outside of the bottles with American flags, stars, stripes and much more. You can even add some sparkles, rope, cords, etc. Then when it comes time to use the bottles simply pour in your favorite beverage and serve to everyone that comes over.
