Courteney Cox rose to fame as the hilarious Monica Geller on the beloved sitcom, "Friends," which aired from 1994-2004. Yet even since her departure, the actor has remained one of the most beloved TV personalities globally. The actor only has one daughter, Coco, with her ex-husband, David Arquette. Coco Arquette is not 19-years-old and practically looks like her mother's twin. Read on to see what the teenager looks like today!

Relationship With David Arquette: Love At First Sight

When Cox met Coco's father, David Arquette, in 1996, the two had an immediate spark. Then still a bright-eyed up-and-coming name in Hollywood, Cox met her future husband on the set of the first-ever "Scream" movie. Speaking to ABC News in 2014, she said she "fell in love" almost instantly, and they began a relationship. And according to Arquette, the feelings were mutual.

"I stalked her," Arquette told US Weekly. "She would go away and fly back. I was stuck at the hotel and then I would wait for her car to come and as soon as she got in the door, I would [pick up the phone]. 'What are you doing?' and she's like 'Are you stalking me?' and I was like, 'Exactly!'"

Their courtship came as a surprise to many. Cox was perceived as a down-to-earth, almost calculated woman with a steady head on her shoulders. Arquette, on the other hand, a laid-back type that more resembled his "Scream" character, the cooky Deputy Dewey.

A Star-Studded Wedding

The unlikely pair got hitched three years later in a star-studded ceremony at the Grace Cathedral in San Fransisco. Cox wore a one-of-a-kind silk Valentino number with a 6-foot-long train, paired with a glamorous tulle veil held in place by a floral headpiece. She also donned an antique, rare stone choker Arquette had gifted her. Her aunt, Anne Cox, relived the beautiful wedding while speaking to People magazine in 1999. She said:

"She carried a bouquet of red roses and was beaming the entire walk down the aisle with her father."

Actor Lisa Mordente, who was also a guest at the ceremony, recalled that both Cox and her groom "were so nervous." "They didn’t want to screw up their lines," she explained. The ceremony lasted just shy of 35 minutes and ended with Arquette smashing a wine goblet with his foot; a tribute, said to Reverand Douglas Carpenter, to honor Arquette's late mother, who was Jewish.

The newlyweds then headed off with their guests to the Bimbo’s 365 Club for their wedding reception, where they danced through the night. A-listers like Jennifer Aniston and her then-boyfriend Brad Pitt also boogied on the dance floor, while Nicholas Cage sat and mingled with other guests.

Mordente said it was a happy night, and the air was full of romance. "Near the end of the evening, I saw [Arquette] looking over at her, and he just had this silent beam on his face. You can see how deeply in love they are," she recalled.

A Dream To Have A Family

Cox and Arquette enjoyed a couple of years of marital bliss, but they yearned for a child to complete their family. That would come as a huge struggle for Cox, who was experiencing fertility issues. Speaking to People magazine, Cox revealed, "I get pregnant pretty easily, but I have a hard time keeping them."

The actor also revealed she had miscarried “quite a few times,” but she and her husband would “bounce back pretty quickly. I don’t say it’s a walk in the park. But what are you going to do? We just try again.”

Cox and Arquette decided to try IVF treatment – an experience Arquette described as "nerve-wracking." Although he tried to remain positive and strong for his wife, the ordeal had become too much for him. “I feel terrible that she has to go through so much," he admitted.

Little Coco Is Born

The couple decided to give the treatment one last try in 2003. In a matter of a couple of months, Cox became pregnant at 39 years old. She and Arquette were ecstatic.

"I’m gonna have a ton of fun being a dad," Arquette said at the time. “I can’t wait to read stories and play games and the whole thing.”

A mere few days before Cox's milestone 40th birthday, she gave birth to a healthy baby girl, Coco Arquette.

An Unexpected Divorce

With their beautiful daughter and successful careers, Cox and Arquette were regarded as the ultimate Hollywood power couple. So when Cox showed up at an interview with In Style Magazine without her wedding ring, reporters were shocked. “We’ve done couples therapy in the past," Cox revealed in the interview, according to People.

“We’re not lazy about our marriage,” she added. “We have the same arguments we’ve had for years.”

Shortly after, following 11 years of marriage, Cox and Arquette announced they would be trialing a separation.

“The reason for this separation is to better understand ourselves and the qualities we need in a partner and for our marriage,” the couple explained in a joint statement at the time. “We remain best friends and responsible parents to our daughter and we still love each other deeply. As we go though this process we are determined to use kindness and understanding to get through this together.”

They continued: “We are comfortable with the boundaries that we have established for each other during this separation and we hope that our friends, family, fans and the media also show us respect, dignity, understanding and love at this time as well."

While seemingly leaving the door slightly open for a chance to reconcile, the couple officially called it quits three years later. “Irreconcilable differences have caused the irremediable breaking of the marriage," stated their court papers.

Co-Parents, Keeping It Friendly

Although their divorce had become highly publicized, they were determined to protect their daughter from the hurt and "co-parent." And when it came to commenting on one another to the media, they kept it more than civil.

“He’s my best friend in the world,” Cox said on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, as quoted by People. “I love him.” Her now-ex's comments were just as delightful when talking to People about the Cougar Town star a week later. “She’s incredible. … I love her, too, and she’s an amazing person, a beautiful person," Arquette said.

However, even though the two tried hard to keep their daughter Coco away from their divorce, it was notably a major life change. In an interview with Harper's Bazaar that same year, Cox said that the child was "adjusting."

"Luckily, we've always had two houses, so there was no change in her living unit. And we both work a lot, so that wasn't a huge adjustment. She's our number-one priority," Cox explained. "No matter what happens, she'll be okay because she knows that she is completely safe, loved, and we'll protect that more than anything in the world," she added.

A Strong Mother-Daughter Bond

As Coco grew older, she became closer to her mother. In 2018, then 15 years old, she joined her mom her show, "9 Months With Courteney Cox," for an exclusive mother-daughter interview

"I'm so uncomfortable it hurts," the teenager half-joked as Cox introduced her to the viewers. The awkwardness quickly turns candid, however, when Coco begins asking the Friends actor intimate questions about her life. For her first question, she asked her mother to describe her pregnancy in three words, to which Cox replied: "Exciting. Emotional. Great."

Coco then proceeds with her next question: "What was your favorite food while pregnant?" To which her mom told her, "cottage cheese and tomato."

"That's disgusting," Coco said. She then went on to challenge the actor to associate one word with the terms babies, pregnancy, and motherhood, to which she replied, "adorable," "hormones," and "love," respectively.

The interview also gave us a little glimpse into what Coco was like as a child.

"[Coco was] absolutely adorable, curious, incredible sense of humor, and quirky," Cox said. Naturally, being a teenager, her daughter humorously responded by calling the actor "annoying."

A Singer In The Making?

Even though it took a bit of negotiating—and even a bit of bribery—Courteney Cox coaxed her 15-year-old daughter Coco into singing Demi Lovato’s “Anyone.” Cox, who accompanied her daughter on piano, admitted that she let her daughter go to a party in exchange for the performance, which she posted on Instagram in the Spring of 2020.

“When you have a teenager you barely get to see them,” the Friends star wrote on Instagram. With more than 4 million views, the video hasn’t only drawn the attention of Cox fans, but also of fellow celebrities.

The Oscar award-winning actress Kate Hudson, known for her role in "Almost Famous", commented, “Oh honey, her voice 🙏🏻💫.” Other celebrities from Laura Dern to Charlize Theron also shared their praise in the comments.

Despite what might have been her initial reluctance to perform with her mother, this isn’t the first time the mother-daughter duo have gone viral. Cox also posted a video of another duet—but instead of playing the piano and singing, Coco and her mother tried their hand at a short dance.

Cox captioned the video writing, “Wanna see your child lose their patience? Do a TikTok with them. #familyaerobics.”

Coco clearly isn’t a stranger to this sort of performance. According to Today, even before she was a teenager she starred in a Foy Vance video directed by Cox herself. And at the fifth annual Chords2Cure concert, Coco joined Snow Patrol for an on-stage duet.

So whether it’s singing or dancing, one thing is clear for Cox and her daughter: a talent for performance runs in the family.

Do you think Coco resembles her mom? Or do you think she's more of her dad's mini-me? Let us know in the comments, and make sure you pass this along to your friends and family!
