Courteney Cox Admitted To Getting A Lot Of Facial Work But Added She's Had All Her Fillers 'Dissolved'

Courteney Cox rose to fame as the hilarious Monica Geller on the beloved sitcom, "Friends," which aired from 1994–2004. Even after the series ended, Cox continued to be a big player in Hollywood. She starred in the series "Dirt" and "Cougar Town," and has appeared in many movies over the years including the "Scream" franchise.

Outside of her acting work, Cox is known for her close friendship with "Friends" alum Jennifer Aniston. The two often show their support for one another's work.

In her personal life, Cox was married to fellow actor David Arquette for over 11 years. The couple got married in June 1999 and had a daughter named Coco Arquette in 2004. Coco is now 17 years old and practically looks like her mother's twin.

However, sadly Cox's relationship with David didn't last and the two finalized their divorce in 2013 after three years of separation. Nevertheless, they remain close and are still business partners together in their production company, Coquette Productions.

Well known for her gorgeous looks, Cox is often in the spotlight. Despite the fact that she's absolutely stunning, she wasn't immune to the Hollywood pressure of trying to remain youthful-looking. This led her to seek out cosmetic procedures including facial fillers which ultimately resulted in a look that was almost unrecognizable.

After some time, the actress decided to dissolve the fillers and has since opted for a much more natural look. In an interview with New Beauty in 2017, she opened up about her experience and admitted to getting work done and why she now prefers to be natural.

In the candid interview with New Beauty, Cox opened up about the work she'd had done, which she explained was a result of "trying so hard to keep up" as a woman getting older in Hollywood. She admitted that she "actually made things worse" in her quest to remain youthful. She told the publication:

"I've had all my fillers dissolved. I'm as natural as can be. I feel better because I look like myself. I think that I now look more like the person that I was."

The actress added that she's accepted that physical changes will happen as we get older and there's nothing wrong with that. She said:

"Things are going to change. Everything's going to drop. I was trying to make it not drop, but that made me look fake. You need movement in your face, especially if you have thin skin like I do. Those aren't wrinkles — they're smile lines. I've had to learn to embrace movement and realize that fillers are not my friend."

Cox revealed that it was a friend who alerted her to the fact that she might have gone overboard. They told her "Whoa, no more!" but she hadn't had anything done in six months. "I didn't realize," she said about how far she'd gone with the procedures. She said that she wasn't totally unaware that she looked unlike herself, but because pictures are always a bit different from real life, she didn't think much of it. She said:

"But I’d see pictures and think, 'Oh, is that what I look like?' And I’d ask a friend and they’d say, 'Oh God, no.' And I never thought of myself as being delusional. I think photographs do show up worse ..."

The actress also talked about how the way of life in Hollywood normalizes the process of constantly getting new work done. She said that one doctor would suggest "a little injection here or filler there" but "then somebody tells you about another doctor" who recommends other work. She added:

"The next thing you know, you’re layered and layered and layered. You have no idea because it’s gradual until you go, “Oh sh*t, this doesn’t look right.”

Cox didn't rule out future treatments but said that she does "want to stay natural." In the interview, she also spoke about other ways she maintains her great skin, which included laser treatments and microneedling.

Back in 2016, the actress opened up to adventurer and TV presenter Bear Grylls about the pressures of "being a woman in this business." She also admitted to having regretted getting work done. She said:

"I think there's a pressure to maintain (your looks) not just because of fame, but just being a woman in this business ... Getting older, I don't think that's the easiest thing. But I have learned lessons. I think I was trying to keep up with getting older and trying to chase that. It's something you can't keep up with."

She added:

"Sometimes you find yourself trying and then you look at a picture of yourself and you go, 'Oh God, I look horrible.' ... I have done things that I regret and luckily there are things that dissolve and go away. So that's good because it's not always been my best look."
