Olivia Newton-John is going through her third diagnosis of breast cancer but she still continues to remain as effervescent as the day we all fell in love with her in “Grease.”

The singer, actress, and breast-cancer awareness activist was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 1992 and went through a successful treatment. Unfortunately, it resurged in 2013 and 2017, and since then she has been battling privately with the illness, reports CNN.

Even though she is battling an illness, the 71-year-old continues to be active in her work with her cancer center and recently auctioned off “Grease” memorabilia to raise funds for research work.

“I am full of beans,” She recently said to The Mirror. “Of course I get tired like most of us, but not exceptionally. I have a lot of energy, actually my energy has come back, which is wonderful.”

Newton-John knows that a positive attitude can do wonders for physical health. But at the same time she doesn’t sugar-coat the gravity of the situation.

“I’ve always been pretty positive and determined to get well,” she said in The Mirror. “That has always been my focus, how am I going to get through this? Of course there are times of fear. I’d be lying if I said I never get scared. I’ve had to train my mind on just getting well and being positive about it.”

Her husband of 11 years, John Easterling, has been by her side during her health scares including a recent moment when she thought she had sciatica. John would have to pick her up out of bed in the mornings because of the pain, and that was the moment they found out the cancer had caused a fracture.

It is because of times like these that she credits her husband for her recovery, and her family for getting her through the pain. Of her 33-year-old daughter Chloe, she says “No question, children are your biggest achievement” in The Mirror.
