A man and woman unexpectedly became the focus of a social media frenzy after a viral video clip from a Coldplay concert sparked widespread online speculation. The incident took place at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts, where Coldplay held concerts on July 15 and July 16, 2025.

The couple’s brief moment in the spotlight drew attention when a shot of them was broadcast on a big screen during the band’s live show, prompting Coldplay’s frontman to jokingly suggest they might be “having an affair” based on their reaction to being caught on camera.

A TikTok video captured the couple embracing each other as the camera panned across the crowd during one of the band’s performances. As the lens focused on them, the woman abruptly turned her back to conceal her face, while the man ducked, trying to move out of the shot.

Audience members near the pair reacted energetically, with some appearing to cheer or laugh in the moment, and the footage quickly gained traction across social media platforms. What may have been a fleeting and private exchange at a live concert turned into the internet’s latest obsession, with viewers speculating about the nature of the relationship between the two.

Online, the clip triggered a flood of reactions and commentary, with many users intrigued by the couple’s behavior and curious about the story behind the awkward moment. As Coldplay performed to a packed crowd, frontman Chris Martin noticed a couple reacting awkwardly to being caught on camera.

“Oh, look at these two,” Martin was heard in the video saying to the audience as the pair attempted to hide.

“All right, c’mon, you’re okay,” he continued.

Moments later, clearly puzzled by their behavior, Martin added:

“Oh, what? Either they’re having an affair or they’re just very shy.”

The clip of the encounter quickly caught attention online, prompting a wave of scrutiny. Social media users wasted no time digging into the couple’s identities, dismissing the possibility that they were simply shy. Online investigators swiftly zeroed in on the duo, identifying the man as Andy Byron, a married CEO of the Cincinnati-based software firm Astronomer, and the woman as Kristin Cabot, the company’s chief people officer.

As the nature of their relationship slowly began to become public, the moment ignited a frenzy of speculation and commentary. The internet’s collective curiosity outpaced any attempt at discretion, and within minutes, the couple’s names and roles were widely circulated.

Byron has led Astronomer since 2023 and also serves on its board. Cabot joined the company in November 2024. At the time of her hiring, Byron praised her, stating:

“Kristin’s exceptional leadership and deep expertise in talent management, employee engagement and scaling people strategies will be critical as we continue our rapid trajectory.”

Cabot responded in kind, saying, “I was energised in my conversations with Andy and the Astronomer leadership team about the opportunities that exist here.”

Later during the concert, Martin seemed to realize the moment’s viral potential, exclaiming:

“Holy s--t. I hope we didn’t do something bad.”
