Do you believe in miracles? Corey Holt, Kat Perry, and the three abandoned Great Pyrenees puppies they saved certainly do! The couple found these new-born puppies inside a sheep's carcass while snowmobiling nearby.

While traversing the snowy mountaintop of the Monte Cristo mountain range in Weber County, Holt and Perry saw a distressed adult Great Pyrenees dog and felt that there was something off about the situation. When their attempts to get her to come with them failed, the couple decided to return the following day with some food to see if she would follow them, as reported here at KUTV News

The next day, they searched tirelessly for the dog and finally located her nearly three miles from the location they had found her the previous day, but this time she wasn't alone: With her were three puppies that looked to be about seven weeks old.

Perry suspects that the mother had been surviving off the sheep's meat since her abandonment. All that remained was some wool and bones-- just enough to give the pups shelter from the bitter cold. Had the couple not returned to look for the female Great Pyrenees, the puppies surely would have succumbed to the freezing temperatures.

The couple decided to bring the puppies home with them but the mother still refused and since they had no leash or rope to lead her, the couple was forced to leave her. They left 20 pounds of dog food for her and enlisted the help of the Weber County Search and Rescue Team to bring the dog to safety and a group of local volunteers has formed in hopes that they can save her.

It is believed that the adult Great Pyrenees was guarding a flock of sheep on the Monte Cristo mountain range during favorable weather and that she had wandered too far off to give birth to her pups for her master to locate her when he came back for his sheep.

Perry decided to adopt one of the puppies for her own and has named him Polar. The other two pups, one male and one female, have been sent to a local Great Pyrenees rescue.
