Having a baby is one of life’s greatest blessings. And, in the last few years, it seems like the birth of new babies is certainly on the rise as more couples get the chance to be parents.

Sadly, some heartbroken couples find that getting pregnant is not an easy or even possible task. These people go through countless treatments and spend endless dollars trying to bring a new life into the world. Such was the case of Lewis and Hannah as they went through years of difficulty before finally getting the child of their dreams.

Hannah and Lewis Jones are a couple who know far too well the heartbreak associated with wanting a baby but being unable to conceive. The couple had been trying to get pregnant for the last six years, doing everything in their power to make their efforts a success.

It all began in 2013 when the couple decided that they wanted to be parents. After trying to conceive naturally for two years, they determined that it was time to turn to In vitro fertilization (IVF), reports the Daily Sun.

Doctors diagnosed Hannah with polycystic ovaries, heart-shaped ovaries, and a tilted uterus, explaining why she and her husband couldn’t conceive naturally. The first round of IVF failed, leading the couple on to several other private clinics.

Hannah and Lewis were both undergoing a lot of emotional turmoil due to infertility. They tried to keep their journey a secret, leading them to bear the heavy burden alone, even though Hannah was a TV presenter on CNN.

By 2019, the couple had spent over $100,000 trying to get pregnant and were finally ready to give up. A baby seemed completely out of their grasp. But then a miracle occurred. As they were finishing their last round of IVF, Hannah became pregnant and stayed pregnant, The Sun continues.

Baby Sonny, who was born through a C-section at 38 weeks, was the last of the embryos the couple had available.

Now, Hannah admits that she never thought that she would be able to be a mother and describes the emotional moment when Sonny was placed on her chest. Hannah says that she bawled her eyes out and said it was all overwhelming.

Lewis says that the moment of Sonny’s birth was his first attempt to breath after all their years of trying to conceive. He says that it was finally like they’d accomplished their mission.

Infertility hurts couples more than anyone can know unless they’ve experienced it themselves. Do you know a couple that is struggling to become pregnant?
