Couple Creates Mobile Shower Services For Houseless Individuals To Make Them Feel 'Like Normal People'

Craig and Danica Shoji are a Hawaiian couple who created an organization called Revive+Refresh to help the homeless people in their community. The couple's goal is to offer center-on-wheels to the homeless people so they can take a shower. Here’s how they're giving people a fresh start:
The couple started their mobile shower station after visiting an area in San Francisco that was impoverished as they told Good Morning America. "I was walking down the street and there was a houseless individual there," Craig told the news station.
"I just told him, 'Good morning,' and he was kind of surprised that I said that to him because no one ever says anything to him."

That's when Craig first realized how important it was "to just treat people like normal people," according to GMA. From there, Craig and Danica decided to start a project that would serve the homeless in their native Hawaii.
They named the business “Laundry Love”. It gave homeless people freshly laundered clothes. After some time, it grew significantly larger and became a popular non-profit organization.
Deciding to also create a mobile hygiene service for houseless individuals, Craig and Danica established Revive + Refresh. The organization has a moving trailer with two showers which they drive around Honolulu.
The goal of the service is to support the idea that "everyone has a story."
According to GMA, houseless individuals can have 15 minutes to shower and use the toilet, and they’re given cleansing gels. When finished, they get hot food.
Craig told the news, "just to see their faces when they come out, it's like a different person."
How much of a difference do you think a hot shower and a meal would make to you if you didn’t have a roof over your head? Pass this along to others so your friends and family can see the difference this couple is making.
