Pets add so much happiness and fulfillment to our lives. Some people even have so much love for their animals that they treat their pets like they are their children.

Ian and Jen are no exception. These two are completely obsessed with cats. They love the species so much that they’ve opened their home to many cats over the last 9 years, fostering cats and kittens that are in need. Three of them even ended up being what many people call “failed fosters,” meaning that the couple adopted the kittens instead of keeping them until they found other homes. Their three cats mean a lot to them, and they each have their own unique and special story.

Last year, Jen and Ian decided it was time to foster another cat according to a video by Naturee. When they arrived at the shelter, they had an adult cat in mind, but they couldn’t resist the urge to foster a special kitten that the shelter currently had. The kitten was tiny and completely blind, but he stole the hearts of the couple immediately. The kitten's eyes had to be removed during a procedure after he was born with genetic issues which never fully recovered properly. However, the kitten would likely grow up to be happy and healthy despite his blindness. When Jen and Ian met him he was still recovering and had stitches over his eyes. Thankfully, he adjusted to his new world quickly and didn’t seem aware of his condition.

Once they laid eyes on this precious kitten, they knew he had to be their new foster cat. They decided to name him Bop. His foster home quickly became his new favorite place in the world, and he learned how to navigate his way around their home very fast. But Jen and Ian’s cats were a bit hesitant around her new kitten, so he wasn’t socializing properly. Thankfully, these two remembered that Bop also had another sibling who was also at the shelter. Hoping to help make peace in the household full of cats, the two decided to go back for him. These plans seemed to work well, as when the kittens began to settle in, all of the cats fell into harmony together and were soon playing and snuggling alongside one another.

After a long six months of having the foster kittens, Jen and Ian knew that they couldn’t bear to see them go and ended up adopting both, naming the second cat Boop.
