High school sweethearts are as much a part of the American Dream as apple pie and classic cars. Growing up together and growing more in love each day makes for a beautiful life. The following decades-long love affair is sure to warm your heart and make you more grateful for the love in your life.

Who could have known that Alan Jackson would find lifelong love amidst class schedules, acne breakouts, and hanging out after school with friends? Denise even had the same last name as him. Years before he broke into the country music scene, Denise Jackson was already standing by her man.

After their marriage in December 1979, Alan and his new bride enjoyed a quiet life as a newlywed couple. Then, according to Classic Country Music, on one fateful day in 1983, Denise took a chance when she saw Glen Campbell at an airport whilst working as a flight attendant and told him of her husband’s dream. Campbell quickly set to work on Alan’s behalf.

As Alan’s fame grew so did his family. The couple welcomed their two children, Ali and Dani, in the 1990s. In 2004, the couple brought the world to their feet as they slowly danced together during the music video for his hit, “Remember When?" As they danced, they were certainly able to savor the multitude of memories that danced through their minds.

Denise isn’t always able to be there with Alan when he tours, but she did attend one particular concert in 2007 in Atlanta, Georgia. When Alan gave the audience an introduction to his band, he also took the opportunity to acknowledge his beautiful wife, and invited her to join him on stage.

The country singer started his career in 1983, and eventually became one of the industry’s most iconic stars. Since the very beginning, Jackson has had a special sidekick, his wife, Denise, who is still by his side 40 years later. The pair met in Newnan, Georgia, as teenagers at high school, and have been together ever since, reports Taste of Country.
