Cop's Jaw Drops As She Watches Three Men Rush To Frail Elderly Couple's Side

We all know that there is usually more than meets the eye, but we still tend to judge others pretty harshly. However, just because it is a normal behavior doesn’t mean that it should be.

This was the case when a police officer caught sight of three young men at a gas station as she was driving by in Williston, Florida, in early 2019. But what appeared at first sight to be the start of suspicious behavior turned out to be something else entirely.

At the time, then 100-year-old David Griest was driving his then 89-year-old wife Rose Griest back from a doctor’s appointment in Perry back to their home in Orlando when he stopped their car at a gas station. The elderly couple had wanted to use the restroom.

It was here that three men – local rappers Freddy G., Marty and Joc Koe Stoe – who were buying snacks at the gas station shop, saw the couple. In a heartbeat, they jumped into action.

What transpired was quite a heartwarming sight to behold. Upon seeing the elderly couple struggle physically to get back into their car, the trio of men rushed in to help.

Carnegie told Yahoo Lifestyle that she too, rushed to the couple’s aid. But upon seeing the men, all of whom she was already familiar with, having served in their neighborhood, she felt so touched that she wanted to capture the moment for the public to witness as well.

“I look over and three men were assisting the couple — it was a beautiful thing to see,” Carnegie told the outlet. Before filming the moment, she said she asked the men for their permission to do so first.

Carnegie said she was prompted to film the incident so the neighborhood could see what the men were really like.

“I know these men from the neighborhood, and I wanted them to have that moment to show who they really are,” Carnegie told Yahoo Lifestyle.

Carnegie added it was a beautiful event to witness. While she knew the men from the area, she was happier still to discover what selfless and caring people they were. 

In the clip, Rose appeared so tired that she almost fell down as she tried to make it to the car. However, the men helped to support her. One held her walker as the other two grabbed her under her arms in order to keep her steady.

They gently maneuvered her into the car, waiting to make sure she was safe and secure. Her husband watched while attempting to help as much as he could.

“Thank you so much fellas,” David, a former lieutenant colonel in the army, said to the men in the video. “I’m 100 years old.”

“Yet, you’re still doing,” one of the men was heard responding in the clip.

One of the rappers, Marty, told the outlet the incident reminded him that it could have been his own grandmother who needed help. His friend Stoe, meanwhile, said Rose appeared exhausted: “She was so tired, she could barely walk.”

Once Rose was safely settled in the car, David ambled back to the driver’s side while thanking the men for their help.

One of the men then wished Rose goodbye, saying “Take it easy Momma.”
