Cop Parks His Car Near Woman And Waits - When She Learns The Reason Why, Her Jaw Drops

A woman in Indiana is publicly praising a Fort Wayne police officer for going above and beyond the call of duty while she was walking through a dark parking lot by herself after work.

Terri Mae is the Facebook user who is sharing her story on social media concerning the way she met Officer Hunter.

We have all dealt with a similar story- having to walk across a dark, scary parking lot all by ourselves. We walk fast, hoping and praying that we will get to our vehicle safely.

We know that we have to be vigilant of our surroundings. But no matter how hard we try, we usually end up feeling extremely vulnerable.

This was exactly how Terri felt on September 10th of this year, as she was the very last one to leave her building after locking up and setting the alarms.

After locking up, it occurred to her that she would be walking alone to her car. She normally had someone with her when she left, making the late-night walk somewhat safer.

However, Terri was alone that night. So it made her very happy to see that there was a patrol car parked close in the parking lot.

Terri wrote on Facebook that as she got to the middle of the sidewalk she looked over to see the officer in the patrol car watching her.

She was so pleased to see him that she walked over to his car to thank him in person. She was even more pleased with his response.

She remarked in her post that when she went to thank the officer, he told her he was specifically there because he saw one car left in the lot. He parked to make sure that the driver of the car got to it safely.

Knowing that the officer purposely stayed behind to make sure she was safe made Terri even happier. She was already proud of the police force in her area, but this encounter made her feel even better about our men in blue! She couldn’t wait to brag about the Fort Wayne Police department on Facebook when she got home. They really know how to protect and serve the community!

Terri found out even more amazing facts about the officer after penning her Facebook post. People told her that Officer Hunter is a beloved mentor to the youth in their area as well as a dedicated officer. She goes on to talk about what an amazing officer they have to keep them safe.

She referred to Officer Hunter as one of the department’s “finest” officers in her post.

This wonderful praise is just what many officers need to hear. In a world that loves to report death and destruction, a cheerful thank-you can go a long way.
