Baby koalas get around by riding around on their mother's backs until they are able to fend for themselves. They are often seen clinging to their mothers as they climb around in trees searching for leaves to eat.

One baby koala in Stirling, Adelaide went on a different type of ride recently when he climbed on the back of a pet dog.

Stirling resident Henry described the unusual scene to a local news station. He told the reporter how he went outside to check on his dog, Tony, only to discover a baby koala clinging to the dog's back. Dumbfounded, Henry grabbed his cell phone and recorded the amazing moment. He then shared the entire unusual scene with his friends on Facebook.

The video shows Tony, a scraggly gray and black mutt, with the baby koala nestled on his back. The baby koala didn't seem to want to let go of Tony, but his mode of transportation didn't seem to mind too much.

The baby koala finally decided he'd had enough of the ride and hopped off Tony's back. Henry captured the baby koala as he ran back off into a nearby wooded area. The curious little one then climbed up into the trees, seemingly to search for a snack.

While many viewers of the video thought the moment was absolutely precious, others expressed concern. One viewer wrote, "Although very cute, it's also very sad. Obviously something happened to the mother... Koala Rescue should have been called."

Koala Rescue is an organization that assists misplaced or injured koalas of all ages. Another viewer echoed the previous commenters concerns, writing, "The baby koala obviously lost his mother...Koala Rescue should have been called to help."

Henry, the dog owner who took the video, discounted the concerns expressed about the baby koala. He said that, although he's never witness a baby koala riding a dog's back before, it is a pretty common occurrence to see them wandering around town.

Since the baby koala hasn't been spotted since, it's safe to assume that he made it back home to his family.
