In Ohio, a couple made friends with a stranger inside Walmart. The stranger had stopped to teach them how to tie a necktie for a funeral.

Kevin Butcher, grieving the death of his father, needed a necktie for his father’s funeral. He and his wife, Sherri, stopped at Walmart in Milford located in Ohio. When they were shopping for the necktie, they realized that neither of them knew how to tie it. Howell Hackler was nearby and they noticed he was wearing a tie. The couple decided to take a chance. The couple approached the older gentleman and asked if he could help. They worried he would think they were crazy. However, they were very wrong.

Kevin explained that his father had just passed away and he needed help. He asked Howell if he would mind assisting.

Howell spent time with Kevin and taught him how to tie a necktie, making sure it was just the right length before they were done.

When they were finished, he pulled Kevin in close and gave him a hug. He told him how sorry he was to hear of his dad’s passing. He then looked to Sherri and told her to take good care of Kevin and walked away. Sherri made a post on Facebook to share this heartwarming moment. People who saw her post went on to try to find the stranger.

Howell was identified a day later and they got a proper introduction.

On the day of Kevin’s father’s funeral, the couple walked in to find Howell already there, paying respects to Kevin and his family. They were overwhelmed with emotions, very moved by his actions and compassion.
