Weighing in at 368 lbs. during his second year of college with several years of late-night snacking behind him and little to no exercise, Ethan Taylor said enough was enough. Knowing the road ahead of him would be no easy feat, Ethan took a no-nonsense direction of hard work and dedication and dropped his weight from 368 lbs. to and 184 lbs. in an awe-inspiring 18 months!

“It feels pretty cool to be able to complete something that massive” says Ethan, who is a college student from Rockford, Illinois, after successfully running the Bank of America Chicago Marathon in an astounding 4 hours, 44 minutes and 56 seconds.

"I’m happier with who I am and how I look. It’s a 180-degree flip for me. It’s awesome," he told People.

Ethan explained that his negative eating and exercise habits only made him depressed. Late-night snacking, heavy processed meals, and alcohol eventually took his weight to a place he never imagined it getting to. At a certain point, Ethan even started skipping class to stay in bed.

"I really didn’t think I was going to live that much longer,” he said.

Ethan confesses that he hit an emotional low-point and the only thing he knew to do was to start over. So he dropped out of college, moved back home, and began turning his life around.

Once home and away from the stressors that led him down that unhealthy path, Ethan laid out a plan for himself. He began by drastically changing his eating habits.

Ethan sourced the majority of his meals from a food service that provides healthy, portion-controlled meals. In just six months Ethan started running every day including Sundays for a marathon fundraiser for the Action for Healthy Kids charity.

Now back in college for exercise science, Taylor reports an overall improvement in his mental and physical well-being. "I want to show people and myself that you can go from one extreme to the other."

We all have the ability to make great and lasting changes in our lives and the lives of others.
