Clint Eastwood is the definition of Hollywood royalty. Whether you know him as the Man with No Name in The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, the eponymous San Francisco police inspector in Dirty Harry, or his later work as a director, most everyone has a favorite Clint Eastwood movie.

At 89 years old, Eastwood shows no signs of slowing down, preparing to release his next film, Richard Jewell, in theaters later this week. Eastwood recently stopped by The Ellen DeGeneres Show to talk about Richard Jewell as well as how he feels about turning 90 next year.

Ellen opened her interview by joking that Eastwood may have forgotten that he is 89 years old. The comedian then asked what he thought about turning 90 on May 31 next year.

"I don't think about it," Eastwood told Degeneres. "I sometimes think when I was a little kid, I used to hang out with my grandfather who was in his nineties and I thought,"Who the hell would want to live this long?"

Ellen also talked about being Eastwood’s studio neighbor for the past 11 years. The talk show host revealed to her audience that Eastwood has an impeccable work ethic. During a fire over the summer, executives ordered the evacuation of the facility as the blaze was getting too close for comfort. Despite the danger, Eastwood stayed in his office and worked on his latest projects.

Ellen also asked Eastwood about squirrels that inhabit the area around the studio parking lot. Eastwood famously leaves nuts on his desk for the squirrels of the area, joking that the animals come to his office, eat the nuts, and then quickly lose interest and leave.

Moving on to his latest work, Richard Jewell, Eastwood said that it was an honor to bring the story to life. The film follows Jewell, who, while working as a security guard at Centennial Park for the 1996 Olympics, saved many lives after he found a bomb in the stadium.

Jewell was then falsely blamed for the bombing by the FBI and the media. Eastwood said that he felt particularly drawn to the film as he believes that it will help clear the real Jewell from suspicion in the public’s eye.

Ellen closed out the interview by revealing that she decorated Eastwood’s office with large Christmas decorations featuring Frosty the Snowman and Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, much to the actor’s appreciation.
