Cleaning Lady Bursts Into Tears After She's Gifted The Home She Was Sent To Clean

There are times when people walk inside a beautiful house and think to themselves, ‘Someday, I’m gonna have a house like this!’ – and there’s nothing wrong with that. After all, anyone can dream – and using that beautiful house as an inspiration for your future home is one step closer to achieving your dream of building a house you can someday call your own. Not only will it inspire you to work hard, but it will also give you the “blueprint” of what the perfect house should look like. But sometimes, not everyone is given equal opportunities to purchase or build their dream house, no matter how hard they try to work. Nonetheless, that won’t stop people from being happy. For a home is still a home, regardless of whether it’s your dream house or not. But what if the house where you work becomes yours?   

Cara Simmons has been working as a cleaning lady for a company called maidbrite, meaning she has cleaned countless homes throughout her working life. While the industry she works in is often undervalued, she, along with thousands of others working in the same field, makes a difference in the lives of others – especially those who are busy with their professional lives.

In November 2014, Simmons, a single mother of three from Cleveland, Ohio, struggling to make ends meet, received the best surprise ever. Simmons thought she was simply going to clean the house she was sent to. But little did she know that it was more than that.

Prank It Forward, an organization whose mission is to do “pranks for good,” pulled the surprise – and it came with a lot of other surprises, too, before they told her the house is finally hers.

An actress named Madeline Blue, pretended to be the owner of the house. But since Blue said she already cleaned the house, she told Simmons to help her with other tasks for a party she was preparing, including doing some food tasting and trying out a massage treatment, among others. She was also given the chance to choose clothes that she can use for the party.

While Simmons enjoyed it at first, she started to get a little confused after a delivery man started bringing in boxes with her items in them. She started to get even more confused after she was told that the boxes belong to the owner of the house, whose name is Cara Simmons. She was then asked to come out of the house to clear up everything until her children jumped out of a truck to surprise her.

Greg Benson, the host of the show, finally introduced himself and told her about the surprise. Simmons couldn’t believe it and was brought to tears after she was handed the key to the house.

“This is your home, you can stay here for your whole life, you can pass it down to your children, you can pass it down to your grandchildren, this is for you,” Benson told her.

Cara’s sister, Glo Nicholson, said her sister truly deserves it because she’s a hardworking person.

Describing her sister as “an amazing person, an amazing sister,” Nicholson said: “She’s selfless, she works hard. She’d give you the shift off your back.”

Ever her employer, Mary Jo, attested to how hardworking Simmons is, saying: “She gives her all, to her work and her family.”

Apart from the house, Simmons and her sister were treated to an all-expenses paid trip to Riviera Maya in Mexico to see the pyramids.
