All parents hope for a healthy baby; however, for Terry and Kenneth Parker, this was not to be the case. When they found out that they were pregnant, the joy of the moment was overshadowed by the realization that their baby girl would be born with spina bifida.

Thankfully, the couple was not willing to give up on their daughter and an entire school came alongside them to give their special child support.

The Parkers gave birth to a little girl name Kenydii. Her condition was as serious as it sounded as she was born without a properly formed spinal cord. The disability has kept Kenydii in a wheelchair for most of her life, CBS reported.

Despite her problems, Terry and Kenneth report that Kenydii does not let her condition get her down. The now four-year-old girl is full of smiles and has a love for everyone she meets. Ever since she learned how to talk, Kenydii has insisted that she would eventually leave her wheelchair and be able to walk on her own.

Unwilling to give up regardless of the obstacles ahead, Kenydii continued with physical therapy and repeatedly told her parents that she would eventually walk.

On Feb. 25th of this year, Kenydii’s hard work finally paid off. During a physical therapy session at the W.G. Pearson Elementary School, the little girl was struggling hard to take her first steps across the parking lot. What happened next was amazing!

A group of other elementary students caught sight of Kenydii and rushed forward to cheer her on. The children gathered around the little girl, clapping their hands together and chanting her name to cheer her forward.

Kenydii was all smiles as she took her first step with her aunt, Yvette Parker, video taping the entire experience.

Since the event was caught on tape, Yvette hurried to share it with Kenydii’s parents. Kenneth explains that he was in tears at work as he watched his baby take her first steps with her classmates giving her the support that she needed to keep going.

With the support of her classmates and family, Kenydii is certainly going to continue to overcome the obstacles ahead.

You can watch the video of Kenydii’s first steps and then pass it along so that your friends can enjoy this breath-taking moment. Have you ever accomplished your goals thanks to the support of your friends and family? Let us know in the comments below!
