Cindy Crawford is one of the original '90s supermodels, and it’s clear that her legacy is still living on today. Born on Feb. 20, 1966, in DeKalb, Illinois, Crawford shot to fame in the late '80s after moving to New York and getting signed with Elite New York modeling agency.

She quickly joined the ranks of other top-level models at the time, such as Linda EvangelistaNaomi Campbell and Christy Turlington, and was featured on a Vogue 1990 cover alongside them that is now considered iconic. Throughout the following decade, Crawford was one of the most popular supermodels, gracing the covers of prestigious magazines and strutting down runways for top fashion designers. On top of that, she found plenty of work in major fashion campaigns and even dabbled in acting.

Back in 2000, Crawford left her career as a full-time model in 2000 in order to have children and focus on family life. However, today, she is still working and has also even started to branch out into business ventures.

While there’s no denying Crawford's beauty, we, unfortunately, live in a society where people can be judgmental at times. Now 57 years old, Crawford has been met with numerous comments about her appearance whenever she posts online. Some people have criticized Crawford for her appearance as she ages, while others have praised her for being so beautiful both inside and out.

In February 2023, Crawford stirred up online commotion when she uploaded a video showcasing her natural beauty that left fans with some questions for the supermodel.

Despite living a very full and happy life, Crawford hasn't been able to escape the public's prying eyes. In a 2017 interview with The Cut, the supermodel came clean on aging and how she feels as a woman in her 50s:

"Everything changes: your skin, your hair, and your body. I take care of myself but I know that I’m a 51-year-old woman. There are times when that’s hard and I’m also sure it’s hard for my sisters who aren’t models."

Crawford also spoke up on how aging has affected how she did her job as a model:

"You feel a little apologetic that you can’t deliver in the same way that you could when you were 20 or 25. ... I want to do my job well, and I want to deliver but I also know that what I have to offer now is different from what I had to offer at 25."

In her interview with New Beauty, Crawford explained how her goals nowadays are about looking and feeling great for her age, not elusively trying to maintain the fountain of youth.

“No matter what I do, I’m not going to look 20, or 30. I just want to look great for 50. I exercise, eat healthy and take really good care of my skin. There’s pressure on women to do the undoable, which is not age. But it’s about looking great for however old you are, regardless of what that number is.”

In February 2023, Crawford uploaded a video on Instagram showing off her natural beauty. She captioned the post, “Baby hairs in the sauna.” Many people raved about how gorgeous the model looked, while others had some questions.

One person in particular asked, “Where is your iconic mole?” Crawford is known for having a beauty mark above her lip, but it was not visible in the video.

Another person commented, “Disgusted by the comments on here. She's a beautiful aging woman❤️ Stop tearing women down. We need to build eachother up.”

Another person said, “You look so different here.”

There’s a chance that’s what Crawford was hoping for, though, as she wondered what she would look like if she got bangs and rearranged her baby hairs to mimic the new hairdo. In an interview with InStyle, Crawford admitted that she was jealous of her daughter Kaia Gerber’s hair. “I look at my daughter and notice that her hair is shiny and healthy looking — she has my old hair, and I want it back!’’ she said.

The 57-year-old talked about this side effect of aging. ’’Everyone tells you your skin will age, but no one tells you your hair will age too,” Crawford said. She continued:

"I think we all expect to get gray hair, but I wasn’t aware that the texture was going to change, it was going to become more brittle, it was going to shed more, and basically just be lackluster."

Crawford has her own beauty line for hair care and skin care, with instructions on how to use each product. Her desire to have rejuvenated hair like Gerber inspired Crawford to create a line for women hoping to restore their own hair. She shared that her “passion” for Meaningful Beauty was “to address not only my aging hair but to bring a solution to the market for the many other women out there experiencing these aging hair issues. And we did.”

It’s beautiful to see Crawford uplifting herself and so many other women.
