The couple announced their pregnancy this summer through Legend's "Wild" music video, which was released in August. The pair have two children, Luna Simone, 4, and Miles Theodore, 2, both of whom were conceived via IVF, reports the Daily Mail. Their third child, who they named Jack, was conceived naturally. Legend gave a performance of his song "Never Break" at the 2020 Billboard Musical Awards last week and dedicated the performance to Teigen.

Not long after the performance, 41-year-old Legend posted a meaningful and moving thread on Twitter, declaring his love for his wife, and how their relationship will never break:

"I’m in awe of the strength you’ve shown through the most challenging moments. What an awesome gift it is to be able to bring life into the world. We’ve experienced the miracle, the power and joy of this gift, and now we’ve deeply felt its inherent fragility. I wrote this song because I have faith that as long as we walk this earth, we will hold each other’s hands through every tear, through every up and down, through every test."

Teigen made her first social media appearance since September in response to this. The 34-year-old shared screenshots of Legend's tweets along with the caption: "We are quiet but we are okay. Love you all so much."

Teigen lost little Jack on September 30. In her post breaking the devastating news she said:

"We are so grateful for the life we have, for our wonderful babies Luna and Miles, for all the amazing things we’ve been able to experience. But every day can’t be full of sunshine. On this darkest of days, we will grieve, we will cry our eyes out. But we will hug and love each other harder and get through it."

Teigen opened up about the recurring issues she'd experienced with her placenta during her other two pregnancies. On her Instagram story she explained: 'It's always been kind of the bad part of my pregnancies with Luna. With Miles, it just stopped feeding him. It stopped taking care of him. I was stealing all his food because I was getting huge but he wasn't getting big at all, so he had to come out early and Luna had to come out early. I was induced both times."

Legend ended his post by talking about how many other families have experienced similar tragedies and offered them all love and support: "So many other families have experienced this pain, often suffering in silence. It’s a club no one wants to be a part of, but it’s comforting to know we’re not alone."
