Chris Hemsworth Publishes Childhood Snap For Brother Liam's Birthday — It Is Adorable

The youngest of the Hemsworth brothers, Liam Hemsworth, turned 31 on Jan. 13. The most famous Hemsworth out of the three, Chris Hemsworth, 37, took to Instagram on that day to post a sweet throwback photo of him and his younger brother, aforementioned birthday boy Liam Hemsworth. Fans were tickled by Chris Hemsworth's caption for the picture. Read on to find out what he wrote and learn more about the Hemsworth brothers, including the lesser-known one out of the three, Luke Hemsworth.

The eldest of the Hemsworth brothers, Luke Hemsworth, was born Nov. 5, 1980 in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia to parents Craig and Leonie Hemsworth. They are Australian citizens. Like his brothers, Luke Hemsworth is also an actor. He honed his acting skills at the National Institute of Dramatic Art in Kensington, New South Wales, Australia, and started his acting career back in 2001 on "Neighbours," a popular Australian soap opera where he played the role of Nathan Tyson. Unlike his brothers, who act mostly for the bigger screens, Luke Hemsworth's acting work is done mainly for local television. He has appeared in "The Saddle Club," "Blue Heelers," "Last Man Standing," "All Saints" and "Satisfaction," which are all Australian TV series.

Luke Hemsworth seems to have a very tight-knit bond with his younger brothers Chris and Liam Hemsworth. And like many brotherly relationships, they seem to love goofing around with each other. For Luke Hemsworth's 40th birthday last November, Liam Hemsworth took to Instagram and wrote this message for his big brother:

"Happy 40th birthday @hemsworthluke! You’ve been a wonderful brother all these years. I’ve taught you well...the rest is up to u. Love ya Luke!"

He may be the oldest out of the three Australian brothers, but he is the shortest among them. In an interview with Jimmy Kimmel back in October 2016, Luke Hemsworth shared that his growth may have been stunted from having a brick fall on his head when he was growing up. According to Cinema Blend, both Chris and Liam Hemsworth stand at 6 foot 3 while Luke Hemsworth is just 5 foot 11, which is still pretty tall.

According to his biography, Luke Hemsworth has three daughters with his wife Samantha Hemsworth, including Harper Rose, Ella and Holly Hemsworth. The couple got married in 2007.

The second Hemsworth brother, Christopher Hemsworth, was born on Aug. 11, 1983, in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. He is the only Hemsworth brother whose name does not start with the letter L, but if it had to be, we would call him Leo, after his star sign.

While he is most famous for his role as Thor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Chris Hemsworth has also starred in other high-profile movies recently, including the recent "Ghostbusters" reboot and the upcoming "Men In Black: International" movie.

His fourth Thor movie, "Thor: Love and Thunder," is currently in the works, and is projected for release in early May of 2022. According to one of his Instagram posts, filming for the movie began just this week, after a nice family getaway to Lord Howe Island, a World Heritage-listed location that is a couple of hours by plane from Sydney or Brisbane, with his family.

Chris Hemsworth and his wife, Elsa Pataky, were introduced by Hemsworth’s talent agent nearly ten years ago. They married just one year later in 2010 and now have three children: 7-year-old India Rose and twins, Sasha and Tristan. The adorable family of five moved from Los Angeles in 2014 to settle down in Byron Bay, Australia. Chris Hemsworth seems like a real family man. In an interview with GQ back in 2018, Pataky revealed that something that drew her in about Chris Hemsworth was his love for children.

She told the magazine: “He was a very mature person for his age. “I could totally feel that he loved kids. And it's something that just melts you, as a woman.” In June 2019, the actor announced that he would be taking a break from acting after filming for 12 months straight and “would not shoot anything" anymore for that year to spend more time with his children. "This year I probably won't shoot anything. I just want to be at home now with my kids,” he said. “They are at a very important age. They are still young and they are aware when I leave more than before.”

Chris Hemsworth is also very close to his brothers. They often spend birthdays and holidays together, as seen in Chris Hemsworth's photos that he posts on his social media account. It also seems that he is a really sweet son — Chris Hemsworth regularly dedicates loving messages to his mom, Leonie Hemsworth, especially on her birthday. 

Liam Hemsworth was born on Jan. 13, 1990, in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.  According to his IMDb, he was in the running for the role of Thor until he lost it to Chris Hemsworth. Before his acting career took off, Liam Hemsworth used to lay floors for a living. He got his breakthrough Hollywood role when he was cast opposite Miley Cyrus in the 2010 movie, "The Last Song" but says that his work for "The Hunger Games" changed his life, and his brother Chris Hemsworth helped with that.

“One of the biggest inspirations before I started shooting came from my brother, when he texted me and said, "Hey, fatty, it's called 'The Hunger Games', not 'The Eating Games.' So I started working out a lot more and eating a lot less,” he said. “'The Hunger Games' absolutely changed my life. It's brought up so many different questions about my own personal growth and where I was heading.”

For Liam Hemsworth's birthday earlier this month, Chris Hemsworth took to Instagram to share a never-before-seen throwback photo of him and his little brother. The two were dressed in identical yellow polo t-shirts and black Bermuda shorts, with the younger of the two sitting on Chris Hemsworth's lap. It is such an adorable photo; Liam Hemsworth has what looks like a hand puppet on his right hand and Chris Hemsworth is sporting a haircut that is reminiscent to that of a young Leonardo DiCaprio. The boys are obviously kids in the photo, but what Chris Hemsworth wrote in the caption is sure to make you giggle: “Happy birthday @liamhemsworth this photo was taken 3 years ago today, d*mn time flies but you haven’t changed a bit." Fans caught the joke and played along in the comments section. “3 years or 30?” one person jokingly asked. “3 years… What potion [are] you guys are drinking,” another user said.

A day after his actual birthday, Liam Hemsworth posted a black and white photo of him in a swimming pool, thanking everyone who wished him. “Here’s to a better year than the last! Cheers for the birthday wishes! 🤙”

Many know the youngest Hemsworth brother as the ex-husband of singer Miley Cyrus. According to Billboard, the divorce between the actor and Cyrus was finalized a year ago in January 2020. The reason for the split was cited as irreconcilable differences, but the two announced in a statement via a representative that they were choosing to "focus on themselves and careers" and that they "still remain dedicated parents to all of their animals they share while lovingly taking this time apart." One day after Liam Hemsworth filed for divorce, Cyrus posted a tweet saying that “cheating” was not the cause of their marriage ending.

“I can admit to a lot of things but I refuse to admit that my marriage ended because of cheating. Liam and I have been together for a decade. I’ve said it before & it remains true, I love Liam and always will,” she wrote in a series of tweets.

Chris and Liam Hemsworth often get up to shenanigans when they are together. Like in this photo, where Liam Hemsworth “landed” a golf ball on his brother's head. Liam Hemsworth also revealed in one of his Instagram posts that he has attempted to throw a knife on his brother’s head when they were little. In dedication to Chris for his birthday back in 2018, Liam Hemsworth wrote: “Happy birthday @chrishemsworth I remember the first time I ever threw a knife at your head, there was this look of pure fear in your eyes. You’ve come a long way from that scared little kid...proud of you. You’re my hero. Love u heaps and heaps.”

Liam Hemsworth also enjoys playing tricks on Chris Hemsworth, and sometimes playfully takes jabs at him for being five years older than he is. “Climbed a mountain with the oldies this morning and came across a rattlesnake after telling my brother there were no rattlesnakes in this area! Ha!” Liam Hemsworth shared in a post from May 2018. Liam Hemsworth has also lovingly referred to Chris Hemsworth as a “massive jerk.” Brothers, right?

They may be celebrities, but they are competitive with one another, like typical siblings. Last summer, the brothers enjoyed a beautiful beach weekend in their native of Australia where they also tried surfing on sand dunes. Taking to Instagram, Liam Hemsworth wrote: “Cheers @australia! What a weekend! My attempt at surfing down the sand dune was definitely better than @chrishemsworth 🤙”

It really seems like Liam Hemsworth truly loves his big brothers. He does not post about them nor does he shares pictures of his family too often, but when he does, the posts are really sweet. 

“Best brothers. Best mates. Best night!!! Happy new year everyone!” he wrote back in 2016 for New Year’s Day with a photo of just him with Chris and Luke Hemsworth.
