Chris Hemsworth Announces Break From Hollywood So He Can Spend More Time With His Family

Avengers star Chris Hemsworth has decided to take some time off from acting to spend more time with his wife and children, according to The Daily Telegraph.

The beloved Australian actor has been busy with multiple projects for nearly 12 months straight. While he’s most famous for his role as Thor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, he’s also starred in other high-profile movies recently, including the recent Ghostbusters reboot and the upcoming Men In Black: International movie.

Now, however, Hemsworth has decided to take a step back and spend some quality time with his family.

“This year I probably won't shoot anything. I just want to be at home now with my kids,” he said.

“They are at a very important age. They are still young and they are aware when I leave more than before.”

This isn’t the first time the actor has mentioned wanting to spend more time at home. In a 2018 interview with GQ Magazine, Hemsworth described how it was getting harder and harder to leave his young children behind to film overseas.

"She's normally like, 'Yeah, see you, daddy. Cool.' [This time] she was like, 'Papa! Papa! Papa!' She doesn't always call me Papa, either," he told GQ.

Hemsworth and his wife, Elsa Pataky, were introduced by Hemsworth’s talent agent nearly ten years ago. They married just one year later in 2010 and now have three children: seven-year-old India Rose and twins, Sasha and Tristan. The adorable family of five moved from Los Angeles in 2014 to settle down in Byron Bay, Australia.
