Chris Evans Sends Video To 'Hero' 6-Year-Old Who Rescued Sister From Dog Attack

Captain America star Chris Evans took the time out of his day to send a personal video message to a young six-year-old boy named Bridger after the youngster stepped in to rescue his little sister from a dog attack, and in the process was bitten on his face and needed about 90 stitches. Bridger's actions were incredibly heroic and brave, and for him to be told so by Captain America himself must mean the world to this little Marvel fan.

Bridger's story first made news a few days ago, as it was posted to Instagram by his auntie, Nicole Noel Walker. Alongside a few photos of Bridger and his younger sister, Nicole explained the incident, in which a dog was charging at Bridger's sister, so quick-thinking Bridger stood in front of her to protect her, but in the process was mauled and required around 90 stitches. She wrote in the post:

"My nephew is a hero who saved his little sister from an attacking dog. He, himself, took on the attack so that the dog wouldn’t get his sister. He later said, “If someone was going to die, I thought it should be me.” He got home from the hospital last night."

What an absolute hero! Nicole went public with Bridger's story in the hope that one of Bridger's favorite superheroes would see it. She wrote in the same post:

"I know it’s a long shot, but I’m reaching out to the Avengers and other heroes so that they can learn about this latest addition to their ranks."

Well, it seems Captain America heard about Bridger's heroic deeds, and in no time Chris Evans, who plays the superhero in the Marvel movies franchise, had a personal message to pass on to the young boy. Uploaded by Nicole, the video includes both Chris' message and Bridger watching it while wearing his Captain America outfit. Chris praises Bridger's actions, saying:

"I read your story and saw what you did. I’m sure you’ve heard a lot of this over the last couple of days, but pal, you’re a hero. What you did was so brave and so selfless, your sister is so lucky to have you as a big brother. Your parents must be so proud of you. I’m going to track down your address and send you an authentic Captain America shield because, pal, you deserve it. Keep being the man you are, we need people like you. Hang in there, I know recovery might be tough, but based on what I’ve seen, I don’t think there is much that can slow you down."

Bridger appears quite speechless, while his little sister immediately says that the video was "awesome." Bridger's actions were so heroic and it's incredible to see him get the support of his favorite superhero on his road to recovery.

Nicole has been posting updates of Bridger's journey and mentioned that he is doing better now, and receiving positive encouragement from the many commenters who are following his journey. She wrote:

"His wounds are looking so much better! He’s in great spirits, and his awesome personality is intact. He can’t smile too widely yet, but he was grinning as I read some of your comments to him."

What a true little hero. And at such a young age! We're sending best wishes to Bridger in his road to recovery and look forward to hearing about the brave and good things he will no doubt go on to achieve.
