Many first responders go out of their way to do a great job. Nurses, firefighters, and police officers often exceed the limits when it comes to helping others. While they all do an amazing job, it is great to hear a story of someone going above and beyond. That was the case for this story.

James Hurst is a hard-working police officer who lives in Savannah, Georgia. He was recently photographed helping comfort a toddler who was lost. That picture is now going viral! When you see it, you will understand why everyone is going crazy for James.

James was called to the scene a couple of years ago. Concerned citizens had found a small boy, just 16-months-old, wandering around on the cold streets in May of 2016. He was all by himself, so the local police were called to take care of him. When they came, they took him right to a hospital to give him a thorough exam.

During the exam, the little boy became upset and scared. James was there to make him feel better. He picked the little boy up and comforted him as much as he could. He later told KTLA 5 News that it was just human instinct to pick him up and comfort him. He said that while the hospital staff was doing a great job taking care of him, the little boy was still scared and crying.

Within a couple of minutes, the young boy had fallen asleep on his chest, according to James. That wonderful moment was recorded for all of the world to see. After it was posted on the Facebook page of the police department, it went viral. Over 10,000 people have already liked the beautiful picture.

While many people are quick to heap tons of praise on the officer, James said that he was just there to do his job. He said that any other officer would have done the same thing if they were in his shoes.

According to the news, the toddler was found to be in good health. He was then turned over to social services. We are so happy that James was there to save the day. We need more people like him in this sad world!
