Cher Responds After Britney Reveals She Wants To Go To St. Tropez With Icon

As the world continues to learn more about Britney Spears' horrific conservatorship, wherein her father Jamie Spears has essentially managed her life and finances for more than 13 years, the pop icon is also opening up to the public more. The full extent of Britney's situation began to come to light earlier this year after the release of the documentary "Framing Britney Spears" in Feb. 2021 amid the ongoing "Free Britney" movement that calls into question the continued need for the legal conservatorship.

A recent update occurred on July 15 when a judge ruled that Britney can choose her own lawyer in the fight to end her conservatorship — a freedom that was only just now allowed to her for the first time in 13 years. This news came as a welcome change for the singer, who had been dealt with a blow after a judge denied her request to end the controversial conservatorship even after her explosive testimony.

The attorney Britney herself appointed, Matthew Rosengart, then made a new statement in which he thanked Britney's fans all over the world before announcing that he and his team would be moving very quickly to remove Jamie as conservator.

Meanwhile, Britney continues to post on social media giving her fans insight into how she is doing. After being asked what she wants to do once she's officially free from the conservatorship, Britney revealed she wished to travel to St. Tropez in the south of France and eat ice cream with another pop legend, Cher. Well, it seems that Cher would happily oblige Britney in the offer, as she tweeted and said she was going to take Britney once she was free!

Posting to Instagram three days ago, Britney Spears uploaded a new video of herself dancing with a long caption on the topic of dreams. She began the lengthy post by stating:

"So what do you guys do to keep your dreams alive ???? Just curious cause at this point I'm not sure it's a good idea to listen to advice from some people."

Britney went on to detail how she ordered a bunch of new tennis shoes and the simple joy that her new shoes have brought her, which makes perfect sense considering she's on her feet dancing every day. After sharing her story, she mentioned a dream that she has, alluding to when she will finally be free from her conservatorship. She writes:

"Maybe I'll just be nice and plant here and keep my dreams alive by thinking about visiting St. Tropez with @cher and eating ice cream ... She was one of my favorite singers as a kid and I loved to dress up as her."

Well, it seems that Britney's dream might actually come true after Cher tweeted in response to Britney's post! The iconic singer tweeted:

"When #FreeBritney is FINALLY FREE🦋, I’m Taking her to San Tropez & We’ll🍦 Eat Ice Cream To Her Hearts [sic] Content."

The Daily Mail reports that Britney's wish might be in reference to photos that were released of Cher eating ice cream while in Portofino, Italy with friends this month. It's heartwarming to see that Cher supports Britney in her struggle for freedom and in fact, it's not the first time the singer has supported Britney publicly.

Back in June, Cher tweeted a longer thread that brought attention to what was going on with Britney. She wrote:

"OK let’s talk about Britney & those people. I said long ago, everyone on the strip heard about her father (didn’t know about her conservator acting in concert with her dad) giving drugs so she could perform, but made sure she couldn’t have a life, but no one could get 2 her."

She added that she "saw the absolute power a conservator has over [the] person they were meant 2 protect" and that Britney "was a prisoner." She goes on to say:

"I have one question. I’ve performed since I was nineteen, & doing the kind of shows Britney & I do is hard fkng work !! What drug cocktail did they give her 2 force her perform, but keep her from having a life!! a few times i heard she was zombie like. She must have been in a living 🔥"

Britney's recent posts have shown that the pop star is more hopeful about her future now that she is able to be represented by an attorney of her choosing. But despite Britney's lawyer's calls for her dad Jamie Spears to step down as conservator, it doesn't look like there is a lot of love or respect coming from him towards his superstar daughter.

Britney also took to social media recently to slam those closest to her, specifically her father and sister for their silence through the years, in an expletive-filled post. In the Instagram post, she included a long caption that made her anger clear, while the photo featured a quote that simply said, "Never forget who ignored you when you needed them and who helped you before you even asked."

What do you think about Cher voicing her support for Britney and vowing to make her dream come true? Be sure to pass this on to others so that they can stay up to date with the news too.
