Chef Reveals The Secret Method To Roast Vegetables For The Best Taste

Have you ever gone to a restaurant and had roasted vegetables, and they tasted better than the ones you make at home?

Well, we have a secret to share with you! Nick Balla, of San Francisco restaurants Smokebread and Duna, told Food & Wine his method for perfect roasted vegetables. 

I can't believe he gave it away, but he did! Now we can make roasted vegetables that taste as good as those in the fanciest of restaurants. His secret? Hold the oil!

You start off the way you normally would. Heat the oven to 350 degrees. Cut up your vegetables. Put them in a cast-iron or a glass roasting pan.

Now, here comes the part that's different. Normally, you would pour some oil over the vegetables before you put them into the oven. But according to this famous chef, you should roast them dry. Don't use any oil before you heat them up!

The chef said the reason for this is that when you heat oil, it overpowers the flavors of the vegetables. When you roast the vegetables without using any oil, the we stay fresher and more flavorful.

Also, when you are done roasting, the vegetables are better able to absorb the oil than when they re raw. That will give them even more flavor.

It's so simple! Just roast the vegetables without oil. Then, when they are done cooking, and you take them out of the oven, you can add some spices and some olive oil.

This is such an easy way to make delicious vegetables. The better the vegetables taste, the more likely you and your family will eat them regularly. We all know that eating a lot of vegetables is a key to better health.
