Prince George and Princess Charlotte were being their cheeky little selves as they watched parents Prince William and Kate Middleton compete in regatta.

The Duke and Duchess competed separately but were both beaten by British adventurer Bear Grylls at the King’s Cup yesterday, with Kate coming in last.

The children were accompanied by their grandparents Michael and Carole Middleton on a boat to watch their parents compete from close by.  After Grylls victory, he held up his trophy and claimed Prince George and “eaten an ant.”

“And also Prince George, your first ant you ate today,” he said. “And that is a great moment. Well done you.”

Princess Charlotte had also given the crowd a reason to laugh out loud by sticking her tongue out as her mother encouraged her to give out a wave.

The Duke and Duchess were joined by other celebrities who also competed, including British comedian John Bishop.

Although the event was meant to take place today, it was moved up to Thursday due to predicted bad weather.

Just before the first race, there had been a false start due to some boats being over the line. This meant the boats had to be recalled back to the starting line.

The Duke came in third place, whilst Duchess finished last. During the Second race, Kate’s boat, along with many others, was disqualified for failing to return to the finish line to start the race.

According to ITV, the Duke and Duchess would like to see the King’s Cup regatta become an annual event, as they hope to raise awareness for the causes they believe in.
