How many of you remember Charlie Daniels and the Charlie Daniels Band? You're showing your age if you do, but it's worth breaking your anonymity for this wonderful icon of country-rock music.

Charlie Daniels has been a grassroots, country musician appearing on the hit lists for over four decades. He spent the first part of his career playing guitar and fiddle for such legendary artists as Leonard Cohen, Bob Dylan, and the Marshall Tucker Band before he became known for his own music.

Daniels began his music career as a youngster, and by the time he graduated from high school, he was proficient in several instruments including the guitar, fiddle, and ukulele.

During the 60s, he played different venues with the popular musicians of the day, but country music has always been his forte and America loves him. Despite all the attention and popularity over the years, Charlie has remained a kind and humble man.
